Frequently Asked Questions:
Will Litcessory products cause my lightstrip to be dimmer?
No, Litcessory products do not affect the brightness of the lights, as long as your total lightstrip run length (lightstrips plus any Litcessory product length) stays within 10 meters/33 feet, your lights will be just as bright!
What is reverse polarity, and how do I fix it?
Reverse polarity happens when you plug in the wrong side of a 6-pin connector. The flow of electricity gets reversed, and the lightstrip won’t turn on. This is a common occurrence when setting up your project and it is easily fixed.
I used a cut-end connector and now my lightstrip colors don’t match. How do I fix this?
If your lights are not the right colors after connecting a cut-end connector, this means that the cut-end connector is not making a solid connection with the connection points on the lightstrips. Try the following:
Unplug the power sourceEnsure the backside of the connection points (the side opposite of the LED lights) are making contact with the cut-end connector’s metal prongs, and that it is fully inserted.Close the lid of the cut-end connector and clamp down with a pair of pliers. Use plenty of pressure. You should hear a slight “snap”.To ensure your cut-end connector stays tight, you can wrap the cut-end connector tightly with electrical tape.
If you are still having issues after trying the above steps, please contact our awesome support team. We are always happy to help!
I have a cut Lightstrip. How do I connect another Lightstrip to it?
To connect to a cut Lightstrip, you will need a Litcessory Cut-End Connector. We have several options to choose from. Our Cut-End to Cut-End Connectors or our Cut-End to Cut-End Extensions allow you to connect two cut lightstrips with cut ends together. Our Cut-End to 6-Pin Extensions allow you to connect a cut lightstrip to an uncut Lightstrip.
I have a cut lightstrip and I need to add a Litcessory extension cable. How do I connect this? To connect two cut lightstrips together with a Litcessory Extension Cable you will need our Cut-End to 6-Pin Connector. 1. Connect to Cut-End to 6-Pin Connector to each cut lighstrip. 2. Plug the extension cable into the 6-pin side of the Cut-End to 6-pin connector
Can I split cut ends? Yes, you can do that by using first converting your cut-end into a 6-pin end by using our Cut-End to 6-Pin Extension or our Cut-End to 6-Pin Adapter and adding our extension cable to it.

The perfect solution to a problem that shouldnât exist.
I love hue lights. They are the best ecosystem for smart lighting to date, especially if youâre integrating the lights with HomeKit. That being said: their lightstrip design is stupid. Almost every kitchen Iâve ever been in would require separate small segments of lights to accomplish under cabinet lighting. Iâd need 4 strips myself and at $80ish a strip that wasnât going to happen. That means using 4 outlets and hiding 4 power adapters/controllers. Like I said: stupid (not to mention wasteful: you canât do anything with the trimmed ends). Now youâd think thatâd be enough to justify these, but you are committing to performing basic surgery on an $80 light strip. Iâm no electrician, my wife was less than supportive, and ready to scream âI told you soâ if I made a mistake. The stakes were high…. The instructions included were well written and informative. I had a slight issue with all of the connections working on the trimmed piece at first, but found that I needed to use a larger pair of needle nose to compress the connector better. Now I have beautiful under cabinet lighting at half the price I originally quoted my wife AND I got to scream âI told you so!â My couch isnât as comfortable as it was when I first bought it, but it does have a nice view of the kitchen…

simple connections for Philips Hue lightstrip
After watching complicated ways to install under cabinet lighting using Philips Hue Lightstrip that involved ethernet cable and soldering, I wanted a simple method that would not be so challenging. These parts worked perfectly, no problem at all, with my v4 Lightstrip (Bluetooth). Everything installed without a hitch first time.there is polarity to the Lightstrip system (B–>A) so my advice is to plan the connections, cut strips to length and connect them with the various connectors end-to-end for the whole system to any wall plug (where you can get at everything easily and check it). Confirm that the plan and all the parts work. If everything works well, then run the wires through the various holes knowing that it all works.

An easy to use solution, but a bit expensive
Not much competition in this space for Phillips Hue LED strips, so they are charging a premium for what you get. Works well, really easy to use. In my case it was worth the money.

It Just Works
If you are looking to install Philips Hue strip lighting, and have anywhere that you want a break in the light to extend to another location, there is nothing else that is as highly recommended as these adapters from Litcessory. I purchased them based purely on those reviews (and largely due to there being no “official” and few other unofficial options for an extension cable that was not just another light strip). There is no doubt that these work, and they are almost as simple as advertised, so if this is a project you have planned look nowhere else.I purchased these and the 10ft extension cable to allow me to run a Philip Hue Light Strip Plus underneath the longest stretch of cabinets in our kitchen. The issue that I ran into was the open section where the range sat above the cooktop. Running lights under there would have looked strange since they would have been exposed on the sides of the cabinets, and ruined the clean look I was going for. Philips Hue does not make a lightless extension, so I had to find something that would allow me to run cable inside the cabinets, over the range, and down to the next section. I found these, and they really do work. The important thing to do when installing these is to watch the videos and read the supplied instructions carefully to make sure you cut the light strips in the right way. That was a bit more fiddly than I would have though, but ultimately not that hard if you were even considering installing the under cabinet lights yourself to begin with. Be extra careful with the male-to-female adapters since they are very fiddly to put back in if you accidentally remove them. If you are careful, they are almost literally plug-and-play.Now that I’ve had them up a few days I’ve had no issues with connection or synchronization between the split strips. Everything looks as it should, and moreso maintained the clean look I wanted under the cabinets. Take your time, read the instructions, and these will give you the freedom to design the lighting you want.

You’ll need to solder anyway
I bought these in hopes I could avoid soldering to get my hue light strips set up. That did not happen. If you’re reading this save yourself some headache and get the solder on connectors. The rest of my litcessory things have been good and suited the need, but these just caused frustration and wasted time.Of the connectors I got, one was soldered solidly enough that I haven’t had any issues, the others all have at least one loose connection. I spent hours trying to figure out why my connection to the strip was loose, then I opened up the other side that was connected when it arrived and saw the six pins barely connected by a tiny piece of solder and several already broken. I was by no means rough in handling them, and it was obvious they were just poorly soldered and barely hanging on in the first placeI ended up buying a soldering iron and removing all the preinstalled soldering and soldering the connectors back on myself. The ones I did this on are great now, but I have a few I already installed that I just have to push on every once in a while because one or two connectors get disconnected.
