What an upgrade from traditional bulbs. Since this is a retrofit, it would have been nice for the outer ring to be more like 6.5″ in order to cover the paint mark left behind by the old one. It was exactly what it said it was though.

Spent hours trying to get the item to work. Finally got someone from technical support to assist in the setup only to find out from them the app doesn’t work. So you have a smart plug that has no way to set schedules, no way to turn the items plugged in on off. Totally useless unless you want a short extension cord.

Difficult to set up but works well once set up is complete.
I ordered this plug to control a small plug in garden fountain I have. I am happy with it now that I have it set up, but the set up process was very difficult. There is a QR code on the box that links your phone to the app, but there are no instructions included in the box at all. I downloaded the app just fine, but when it asked for an email or phone number to send a verification code to so I could create an account, it took several tries before one of the codes worked and then only after I switched from my phone number to my email. Once the verification code issue was worked through, I tried to “add a device” at least four times. I would follow the instructions on the screen and think I was finished, but when I would go back to the home screen to try the plug, the device would not show up. It took several attempts with a lot of trial and error before I was able to get my account created and my plug working. Now that it is working, I am happy with it. It works well with the app and I like the bonus wifi extender feature, since the plug is on my porch and I like to sit out there in the evenings and use my phone and tablet. It is nice to have a signal that is a bit stronger. It would be nice, too, if the rubber plug cover was attached to the main unit so it can’t be dropped or misplaced. Overall, I am happy with this plug now that the app is working and it is connected, but the app definitely needs some improvement with regards to setting up the devices.

Actually wanted this because allegedly was supposed to be able to control each outlet individually. – Well that didnât happen, because the only way to do that is to use their app and that crashes constantly, as in I never even got the app to run! Reflective of the 2.7 rating it has on Google Play Store. I guess there was an earlier version that may have worked but not for me.Abandoned the Wi-Fi setup, which the extender was recognized but again would have taken much longer than other Smart Home devices, I have set up without any problem, and it will go right back into the box and to Good Will. Not sure of other 5 Star rating but thatâs not for me. Itâs a clear 2/5. Items need to work smoothly to get 4 and 5 stars.(*MY RATE SCALE*: 5=perfect; 4=minor imperfections; 3=on fence; not sure if Iâd buy again; 2= too many problems; 1= shouldnât be sold or dangerous).
