Excellent Switch
I have a 1970s house with no neutral wiring. For the past year I have been looking for a WiFi switch with a timer in an app to turn on & off my front porch light. After reading many reviews I finally purchased this switch. It was extremely easy to install. I found the app a bit confusing and frustrating to setup, but after about a half hour I finally was able to get it to work and setup the timer. Now that it is all installed and the app running on my iPhone, it works great. I only installed it today and hope it continues to work flawlessly.

Worked OK for a few days!
I purchased two of these switches, easy installation and working fine for a while. One of the switches keeps going off my wifi network and I have not been able to fix the issue. Tried to contact technical support and they want to charge you to chat with an expert. You need to input your credit card information which I refused to do, so no chat. Poor quality and poor service. Stay away.

Smooth Install Working Great
Working as expected right out of the box. Pretty easy installation. Had to figure out how to place two in one switchbox but figured it out with the diagrams. Only minus, is the casing on the switches is thicker than normal, make sure your place cover will fit smoothly over the switches. I didn’t use the two included decora plates because I’m installing in one wall box. Bought a two-gang cover at a big box store. Will check back in a month with an update. Simple upgrade without a neutral wire, from my old mechanical switches. Thanks.

The only choice for a wall switch when you have no C-wire
Like most people, I have a wall bedroom switch that controls a dual socket. I split the wall plate so that the top socket is always powered and the bottom one is controlled by the wall-switch.Unfortunately, it used to be very common (unintentional pun) to just run only one wire to the wall switch to turn a socket on or off. When a regular smart switch turns off the lights, it also cuts power to itself. Without that power, thereâs no way for a smart switch to to run the electronics so it can always be listening for a command to turn the light back on. So Alexa can turn the light off just fine, but doesnât have any way to tell the dead smart switch to turn back on. Frustrating. If your switch box has a C-wire, then the smart switch will always be powered, so it can listen for on and off commands. Most of my switches have the C-Wire, so smartswitches and smart dimmers were simple to install all over the place. Unfortunately the construction people didnât do the right thing for the bedroom and foyer lights. The old solution to this annoyance was bit of a workaround. You buy a capacitor (itâs like a rechargeable battery) and wire it into the smart switch, so it can run its electronics using that charge until someone switches the light on again. When the switch is turned back on, the capacitor will recharge in a few seconds.Adding a capacitor to the smartswitch was minor surgery that required soldering, not to mention taking up room in a cramped box. Not great, plus time consuming and the result could be a bit delicate. Pretty much a hack.Luckily Moesgo made a switch that has a capacitor already built into it. No more surgery and soldering. Weirdly, itâs the only one I know of on the market. The Moesgo switch installs the same as most smartswitches. The only diffence you might notice is that once itâs installed it takes a couple seconds to charge the capacitor, but then itâs all ready to pair with your smarthome like most other switches.Sounds perfect, right? Imperfections:- if you donât have anything plugged into the outlet controlled by this switch, it will never get a chance to charge and the capacitor will run out. This wouldnât be the end of the world, except the switch wonât even work manually once the electronics are out of juice. Plug a lamp back into the socket and it will be able to charge again. Sounds like no big deal, but until I figured this out, I was baffled why the switch was no longer reachable by Smartlife/Alexa.- I had a lot problems pairing to the switch, and so have others. One of my switches (the foyer) was effortless. The other was a nightmare of hours of troubleshooting until it just started working for no good reason. So, I recommend this smartswitch as the only simple way I know of to deal with a wall box that was oringially installed by the builder without a âcommonâ (c-wire).PS: splitting a dual socket is a stupidly simple âsecretâ procedure that anyone can do with any socket (look it up). It amazes me how many people suffer with a wall switch that they canât use because it will turn off something like a TV when you really want to be able to switch the nightstands, and, obviously, donât want the TV to turn off as well when you flip the switch to turn off your bedside lamps. Having the socket split this way should be the default, and âbondingâ them together should be the optional configuration. But itâs not, so you have to use YouTube to learn the simple secret to getting the use of your wall switch (dumb or smart) back.

Mostly painless install
Wifi switch with no neutral and no hub is quite impressive vs their competition. It doesn’t dim, but it was a fast install and it’s working great. Very loud click when going from off<=>on whether via Alexa or via the switch itself, but it’s not objectionable to me, anyway. The backing plate is too thick and makes double gang installs difficult, and causes the cover plate to bulge out when you finish the install.

This is a great product for an older home w/o a neutral wire
This is a great product for an older home. Our wiring loops to the light fist, then down to the switch.Which make using most smart switches unusable because there is no true neutral wire. New wiring goes from the switch to the light fixture which still maintains a true neutral wire @ the switch, which in turn actually allows a single pole switch to function as a true disconnect, and not a circuit interruptor, still leaving power at the light fixture. We have several smart switches in our home but only where we have an actual neutral wire. This switch allows you to use it with out a neutral wire. For some unknown reason we were only able to get intermittent wifi signal to this switch. Itâs less than 10 feet from our powerful router. It would work sometimes, & go (off line) about 50% or more of the time. Maybe we have a gremlin in our wiring IDK, but this did not work for us. It may however work fine for someone else. It turns out I actually have an active neutral wire in this box that I did not know was there.I replaced this switch with a Treatlife brand single pole switch which is the brand we are using elsewhere in our home, which require a neutral wire. This switch could be what you need for your specific home, & wiring. It just didnât work for me. It seems to be made well, & is a little shallower depth than the other brand we are using, which is nice if you have shallower depth electrical boxes.

Easy to set up and connect.
Love the simplicity and hub less functional, but I have issues with this switching to pairing mode causing the lights to blink. Sometimes for 10 minutes sometimes hours. The lights cannot be turned on or off and there seems to be no way to stop it . When it eventually stops, it may or may not be connected to wifi, majority of the time, it’s not which defeats the whole purpose.

Worked great
I had gotten another one that just didn’t work. I installed this and worked right away and connected with no issue. Only issue is that the light on it is on when the light is on which is the opposite of most other switches, but no big issue.

Works great easy to set up, had to change my metal gang box to a plastic one since it has a bit more space and the 2 side screws would actually touch the metal. Will be buying a couple more for my kids rooms
