Simple, attractive, easy-to-install & set up.
Update, 08Mar2019:The 2nd switch was installed a day or two after composing my review, and I once again had a satisfying result after struggling to pack all the wiring into the box. In this case, the M/J switch was placed in a double outlet box along with a combination switch/outlet. Gets a little crowded in there with all those wires! But everything is working well, with both the SmartLife and Alexa apps. Very happy with my purchase and usage experience!I bought this pair of switches for controlling porch and garage lights from two separate locations, after replacing ridiculously-undependable motion sensor lights. (One of which stayed on nearly all day, but usually wouldn’t come on at night unless you waved your hand or jumped up and down in front of it — but I digress…)I’ve only installed one of the switches at this point, but the installation was fairly straightforward after a complicated reconfiguration freed-up space for it in a dual outlet box. These switches, like most of the devices of this type, require more space behind them in the box, as they’re physically larger in that dimension. also, on this particular device, connecting wires extend from the back of the module, rather than attaching to screws on the sides, as is the case with most conventional switches. With this scenario, the wires must connect to the power and fixture wires with wire nuts, which also take up space in the back of the box. In my particular situation, this required some very careful, tight placement to get everything crammed in so that this switch and the double combination switch next to it would fit properly in the box. But I managed to pull it off, and everything works beautifully! The included user manual is fairly well-written, and appears to be decently proof-read/tested, not an error-filled machine translation from some foreign language. I found the instructions for downloading the app & adding the switch to my network to be clear and straightforward, as were the instructions for using with an Amazon Echo Dot and setting up a schedule or controlling the light manually from the app. This switch is designed to be used on a 2.4Ghz wireless network, and will not connect to a 5Ghz network. So it begged the question whether everything would work in my home, where I have a dual-speed router, and most of my newer devices are connected to the 5Ghz side. I connected the switch to the 2.4 network, as instructed, and got it set-up. But it seems perfectly capable of communicating with Alexa on my Echo Dots and my iPad, all of which are on the 5Ghz band. I guess it’s smart enough to know that it’s all the same home network, despite being split into 2.4 and 5Ghz branches.I like the fact that there is a visual indication, in the form of a small LED, on the face of the manual rocker. When lighted, this indicates that the power to the connected device — in my case, the porch light — is on. Mechanical activation of the switch requires only a light tap, and I hope that it’s robust enough to last without breaking. In all actuality, it probably won’t get a lot of manual usage — the idea is to have it running on a schedule, minimizing the number of manual activations.Summing up, I’m liking it at this point, am optimistic that setup and operation of the second one goes smoothly, and that they will give me a good, reliable lifetime of service and convenience.

Very nice switches
Update 2022: several years and 11 switches later I still give them 5 stars. Not perfect but still nice. The newer ones have a Morse code like hum that I donât like but only one can be heard when walking by. I have had them forget their setups before after power outages and sometimes just randomly. Setup can be hard and random. Example some will program right away easy. Some will require multiple tries. Some will work on fast blink mode and some on slow blink. Some will work on the third try doing the exact same thing. Frustrating but worth it. I have 11 running and have bought 12. One refused to enter setup mode (would not blink) so I returned it.Original review 2019: These Martin Jerry smart switches are great. The switch is fairly easy to install. If you have ever changed a switch before it is no different except you have to use the neutral wire that normal isnât used.In my install I had three neutral wires in the junction box. So when I added two more wires from the switches I had too many wires for the wire nuts provided. But luckily I had a larger one. Just something you might want to consider before starting. Since the hardest part of the install is smashing all this wire back into the hole. The switches are much larger than standard switches. So they donât fit easily. And if your wire nuts arenât on good you might have an issue. I can see how some houses might have a fit issue, thankfully mine sits mostly flush.I already had some smart plugs that used this same app, so I have used it before. However after linking it to Alexa I never use that app again. Switches work flawlessly with Alexa.I also like how they donât have a small light on them when they are off since it is in the bedroom. They do have a small light on them to tell you the light is on. So indicator light on when light is on, and indicator light off when light is off. My preference would be to have no indicator at all, but whatever.Time will tell how they hold up, but as of now if I need more smart switches I will buy these again.

Great Switch, Great Price
Great product, at a even better price. I have almost completely replaced every switch in my home with these…. The install is a breeze. Yes, you do need to have the neutral wire in your switch box in order to have these work. But being that I have been a residential electrician for over 24 years, that’s not a problem. I will surely be buying more of these to finish my home.My only thing that I wish is there was a option for diffrent colors, and the ability to have the blue light on or off.

Although Martin Jerry makes devices with Tasmota pre-installed, these are not those. However, I was able to flash them OTA with the lite version of Tasmota using Tuya-Convert, as they contain a TYWE3S module.Note that neither the packaging, included instructions, nor Martin Jerry website indicate that these devices have been certified or evaluated by any accredited safety agency. Furthermore, the devices do not display any mark or label of an accredited certification or evaluation agency, required for them to be legally sold in some jurisdictions (e.g., Ontario). On the upside, the relays used in these devices appear to be appropriately sized (16A @ 277VAC).
