Extension Cable
LIFX Z lightstrips only allow for a single continuous lightstrip run. Litcessory products allow for several!
This extension cable, specifically designed for the LIFX Z lightstrip, enables you to create a break in your LED lightstrips instead of having only one continuous lightstrip. The possibilities are endless! You can run lights under cabinets with a break over the sink, create sharply defined lighting on a series of shelves, or even connect lightstrips across an entire room. Frequently Asked Questions:
Will Litcessory products cause my lightstrip to be dimmer?
No, Litcessory products do not affect the brightness of the lights, as long as your total lightstrip run length (lightstrips plus any Litcessory product length) stays within 10 meters/33 feet, your lights will be just as bright!
What is the maximum length of extension cables I can use?
A 3 meter/10 feet extension cable can ONLY be used between the controller and the first lightstrip. A maximum of 1 meter/3 feet in extension cables can be used between all other lightstrips.
What is reverse polarity, and how do I fix it?
Reverse polarity happens when you plug in the wrong side of a 6-pin connector. The flow of electricity gets reversed, and the lightstrip won’t turn on. This is a common occurrence when setting up your project and it is easily fixed.
Is the total recommended length of the lightstrip (10 meters/33 feet) affected by the extension cable and/or an ethernet cable? Is it 10 meters/33 feet plus the length of the ethernet cable?
We recommend keeping your total lightstrip run under 10 meters/33 feet. This includes the total length of your lightstrips and any Litcessory products and ethernet cables. Some customers have reported success going over this limit, however we have not tested this.
Do Litcessory extension cables have LED lights on them?
No, Litcessory products do not have any LED lights.

Perfect fit!
These are great, and the perfect solution for connecting 2 strips over areas that you donât want light and that you also need to bend or change direction. The lifx Z strips cannot be bent at 90 degree angles or more and so these are simple but flexible and adjustable. They connect easily and work great!

Doesn’t work, even when used as directed
I used this as directed, placed between the controller and the first light strip (I tried with 4 strips, and 2 strips). The LIFX app could only see the first light strip. It knew there were other strips but couldn’t see their color or status. I tried the reset process several times. It would detect the strips but they never worked right. Themes wouldn’t work at all. And very often the app could only control the first strip and the other strips remained on the old setting. Also, the white LEDs would occasionally flicker or flash. All these problems went away when the extension was removed. Also, the plug isn’t a very good fit for LIFX. The cable has 4 equally-spaced pins but in LIFX there is one pin clearly spaced farther away than the others (see their pics above). So the extension doesn’t fit very well anyway.

Works! Its just works!
When I bought my LIFX light strip, I needed an extension to connect my lights. I needed the lights to extend further and so I went on a search. Much of what is on amazon are 2-3 pin connectors, not the full four pin which the LIFX lights needs. I found these opened them up, and ran the strip. Works wonderfully and never had any issues.

Product doe not stay connected
The product is what I expected, however, the connectors do not stay connected, they slide apart very easily. Now I have to rig some way to keep them plugged in…

Perfect fit for LIFX Lightstrip
This cables are perfect for the Lifx lightstrip, including the unique slightly wider distance between 2 pins, so it was exclusevely designed for this product. The lenght is as advertised, the connection with the strip is strong, even stronger than between 2 40″ sections, and is very mealleable and easy to work with it.The only reason i don’t give it 5 stars is because one of the cables came with a small defect on the plastic cover, which i solved with a bit of white electrical tape, just in case.

This WILL work with LIFX Jan2022
I just installed these with a set of LIFX Strips on 10JAN2022. For all the naysayers, a quick search on the internet will tell you exactly how to do it. The pins do match up. If they do not match up for you, try turning the cored upside down. If this still does not work for you, it is most likely because you were shipped the wrong cords. AFTER you have all the lights connected, plug them in and press the rest button on the Wi-Fi controller. When the lights blink, release the button. Simple as that.

WORKS with LIFX Z Light Strips
This cable works perfectly with LifX light strips, unlike what some people say. The connector just needs to be plugged in the RIGHT way, taking special note of that extra pin at the end and matching it with the connector. If you plug it in the wrong way then you’ll have problems. This did the job and no function or brightness loss.

Incompatible with LiFX
The strip on the extension will light up, but it just flashes. It does not match the lighting settings for the rest of the lights on the strip.

I’m not sure why some reviews say this extension doesn’t work with Lifx LED strips, but it does flawless. I have a kitchen counter with almost 6m long with an L shape. I had to make a 90º turn at 5m and did it with one of these extensions. It just works, of course it does, it’s just cables.

Worked like a charm, 3 1m strips with a single 1m cable between, connecters took a firm push but were lined up perfectly. None of the issues commonly reported. Just a shame theres a 1m restriction between strips.
