Great Doorbell Cam for Apartments
I purchased this cam to use at my front door at my apartment. I have a connection of LaView cams & the app makes using them convenient. I plan to stick with the LaView brand for ease of use. I also really like that I cannot use microSD cards in the cams instead of paying for a monthly cloud subscription. Speaking to Shaun Sue in customer service was pleasant & helpful when questions arose.

You have to charge it every single day. Twice a day
I reached out to technical support because Iâve had to charge my device twice in less than 24 hours. This defeats the purpose as I want 24 hour surveillance. I understand that you have to charge it at some point, but you shouldnât have to charge it every day. I wouldnât recommend this product for that reason alone. Other than that, the video quality is great. And it picks up movement well.

Important detail missing from the instructions
I have several other cameras from this brand, so not unfamiliar with how to connect to the app however, I still followed the instructions to the letter, but could not get it to connect so I reached out to the seller, who provides a good level of service by the way. And they sent me a video on how to connect it. The secret is you donât connect the camera to the app. You connect the app to the base station and the camera is already or can be pared to the base station. But that also means that itâs not visible when you are truu you no to view all cameras in the multichannel view. Other wise good quality for the money. Oh, also has good battery life at least at my door with little traffic

I was very excited to get to try the LaView doorbell camera. As a single mom I have wanted a security camera for piece of mind but was never able to afford one. This camera was very simple to install and get set up and working. You have to drill the camera wherever you would like it. Plug the base station up inside your house, install the app and you are good to go. The picture quality is great. I can see what’s going on even at night. I get a notification on my phone when any movement is detected. When someone rings the doorbell you can talk to whoever is there as well. The camera is easy to remove and charge. Comes with a little pin to remove it. I charged it when it first arrived and haven’t had to charge it since. I believe the instructions said it should last around 6 months on a charge. You can also go on the app and look back at the pictures of whoever came by. There is a subscription you can pay for but I’m really not sure what that is for. I think it’s if you want to be able to save and record. I think this works great and is a great quality security camera for the price. It does exactly what I needed it to do and is exactly what I wanted out of a camera. I would definitely recommend this!!

Good but not great
This does not have as good features as other brand name doorbells. Infact it’s lacking some features you’d think it should have. There is an SD card memory slot however it doesn’t have the ability to record 24/7 only when someone is actually at your door. The image is clear.
