Works well, sleek design
These switches work well, once installed they connect fast and quickly w your network via the Kasa app and Apple Home kit. When the switch is off there is a little circle that illuminates to help you find it in the dark. To add to home kit each switch has its own code that will be covered once you use the plate cover. Iâm very satisfied at how fast and easy it added to Apple home kit and the Lasa app. Just make sure your wires has a neutral wire!! Otherwise this will not work!

By far the easiest HomeKit switches to install
My home has switches and dimmers from various vendors. These have by far been the easiest and most reliable to install. Connects to HomeKit on the first try every time. I also love how the LED can be shut off in the Kasa app, unlike my Weemo dimmers that have an obnoxiously bright LED that can’t be shut off. Any switches I have fail in future will be replaced by Kasa ones.

Smart Choice
These switches are perfect for this price. Super easy to install (make sure you have a neutral wire), and they work flawlessly with Home Assistant. No hub needed, and the Wi-Fi connection is solid. The design is sleek and fits right in with my home. Such a great deal for a 3-pack.Only issue is how the faceplate snaps onto the switch, if you’re working in a tight space you might have some trouble snapping it on. You can use rubber washers between the wall box and the switch so it stays in place when you’re trying to snap the faceplate on.

Great for Local Control in Home Assistant
I had been using different Shelly modules behind traditional light switches, but the Shelly modules kept dying and I couldn’t figure out why. I decided to substitute these in instead of the Shelly modules as these were well reviewed and I like the paddle switch look.I luckily had an available neutral wire in my switches electrical box, and installation went very easily. I connected each switch to my IOT WiFi network without issue which is actually a big deal for me. As my IOT WiFi network blocks WAN (internet) access by default, I have run into problems with some products from other manufacturers which require the device to have internet access before it declares setup successful.I did briefly allow each switch online so it could update with the shipped firmware (1.0.5) to the latest before blocking their internet access once more.Home Assistant found them very quickly via the “TP-Link” integration (I used the “TP-Link Smart Home sub-setting after selecting TP-Link), and I was able to add them to the appropriate room and control them with my voice assistant. This all worked without the switches having any access to the internet (a.k.a. local or offline control), which was exactly what I wanted!Note: I had some minor, brief wireless drop-outs with two of the three switches in Home Assistant, but that all went away once I updated the switches to the latest firmware; they have been rock-solid since.THANK YOU SO MUCH to TP-Link for giving consumers to control their smart devices without having to resort to yet another cloud service! The only thing that would improve my experience is if I could update the switches firmware via Home Assistant (ideally) or via a web interface local to each device similar to how Shelly does it.

Failed after 6 months – KS200
When it worked it worked as expected. Had zero issues with it until about the 6th (almost 7th) month. Light circle kept flashing one/off red/orange, not a slow flash when you first connect it. Tried to reset it restart it, turn off the circuit breaker with no success. I had an extra one and installed. I donât expect any issues but it was cheap and I can forgive one but not 2 failing on me. Will update again if I see issues with the 2nd one.Update: 07/20/2024Junk. What is with these things? I Installed a 2nd one 6 months ago and guess what? failed 6 months later. i don’t like giving negative reviews but 2 in 12 months for the same circuit is unacceptable. since it’s well past the purchase date, can’t get a refund. going in the garbage can. will be looking at another brand.Update: 08/27/2024Why hasn’t TP-Link addressed the large failure rate of these switches? They are rated highly for ease of use but one of the reviewer earlier said “4 of 9 switches failed.” That’s a 44% failure rate. My 2 of 2 is a 100% failure rate. The one thing that i did like about them is that they are not as deep as others that i’ve found. But the failure rate just doesn’t justify another purchase.

Dead simple to install and a great bargain HomeKit switch set
Since I live in an apartment, I was looking for something less intrusive and complicated than the builder-grade stuff that came out at the beginning of the smart home trend. These switches fit the bill perfectly.Installation takes about 10 minutes if you even have half an idea what youâre doing. The terminations for the leads being built inside the switch, there are pigtails for the load, ground and neutral wires, and the kit comes with extra large termination caps which make it a breeze to hook up. The small size of the actual switch housing makes it fairly easy to fit it and the cables/caps in a standard new work box.Onboarding via HomeKit was a snap. The included QR code makes it a trivial task to bring the switch into the home and pair it. Total time was less than 5 minutes.Aesthetics are great and I appreciate the addition of a restart button on the front of the switch. Youâll want the Kasa app for firmware updates, but if your home is enclaved I wouldnât bother with it. All said, Iâm very impressed with TPLink for the full experience of these switches.
