I purchased the eight outlet (110VAC) model. This unit is great for controlling Christmas lights inside the home. I like having 2 “always-on” outlets for things like a phone charger or lamp. The other six are all individually switchable (manually or by using a the timer features on the Geeni app).I have about 20 various Geeni controllers in our house and they work great….very convenient.NOTE: The 8 outlet model DOES NOT have the USB ports. Only the six outlet model has the USBs.

Iâm not sure why people seem to have problems with any of the Geeni power strips. Iâve had several of them setup for my wifeâs Christmas houses for several years with no problems at all. You do need to set them up with 2.4Ghz WiFi though so that might be some of the problem? Ours work great year after year. The new surge protector strip was also an easy setup and work great. Time will tell with the new ones, but if they work as well as my others, weâre all set! Makes life pretty easy.

Started a FIRE!!!
I saw a review saying it was a fire hazard but most of the bad reviews only mentioned connection problems. The device connected perfectly and worked for almost a month. On thanksgiving I was woken up, at 3:49am, to an awful sound and flashing lights. Apparently the surge protector, which I had all the outlets full but only 2 working, decided that it didnât want to protect any surges. A mini electrical fire started and melted the housing of the plug for the Edison connector. It also melted the outlet I was using.Looking at the surge protector the cable was extremely hot to the touch and one of the terminals of the plugs were completely melted off.I do not recommend this item at all as during the entire debacle it did not shut itself off, the entire reason I go this was in case of power draw issues the entire thing would turn off by itself.This device had two jobs, to allow for me to turn the devices to be turned on/off and to turn itself off if any problems occurred. It didnât do so. And actively caused a safety harm while I was sleeping.DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE!

Iâve been a fan of Geeni products for a while, and the Geeni Surge Ultra Smart Surge Protector is no exception! I upgraded from my previous Geeni surge protector to this one for the extra outlets, and itâs been a game changer for my custom-built plant cabinet. Each plug is connected to either a fan, light, heat pad, or humidifier, and the ability to create schedules for each specific plug lets me customize the conditions perfectly for my plants.The reliability of Geeni products gives me peace of mind, and I love the ability to control things via my phone (home or remotely) and the ability to integrate it into Google Home assistant. This surge protector has made managing my plant cabinet so much easier. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smart and versatile power solution!

Perfect for what I need.
A little bit confusing to set up. Would have been helpful to know that these only connect to 2.5ghz wifi (as with any of them it turns out). So you have to be able to split your wifi. Once set up this is perfect. Lights indicate when a plug is on and I can control the outlet form from phone anywhere. You can also rename plugs and create custom schedules.
