    Outstanding Smart Plugs
    I am about to purchase my fourth set of these Kasa Smart Mini Plugs. Not only have I attached them to various lights throughout my house but also my sister’s home, too. I was an early adapter of Wemo smart plugs. They were expensive and not very reliable as far as responding to Alexa routines and they completely failed at some point. The Kasa plugs are at a very nice price and very rarely fail to respond to commands (which I believe has more to do with my wi-fi hub occasionally going glitchy.) The Kasa plugs are incredibly easy to add to a network. The devices are small and fit in just about any space. They have an override button to turn them on in case your wi-fi goes out.

    Impressive product, impressive support
    I’m very impressed with this product, and that it’s offered at such a low price. I haven’t even tested most of its capabilities — for controlling one’s appliances — as my need is simply to be tracking my electricity costs. For that alone, the software is well thought-out, and it’s working perfectly.There’s obviously a good company behind this product. The setup was very easy and well explained. And the customer support is quite something. I used their chat feature to report a small bug. Kristine, with the help of others in her department, was in touch with me several times the first day, and again the day afterward, to resolve my problem. It’s the most responsive tech support I’ve encountered in all my many years.

    Great Smart Plug and App. Painful Setup.
    I ordered and installed four TP-Link Kasa EP25’s. Once installed, the Kasa app was a pleasure to use. The energy monitor feature allows me to check on the power being used by a window air conditioner. The other 3 smart plugs are being used to turn on/off a subwoofer and to remotely reboot a network router and printer.I spent 4 frustrating hours over two days trying to install of the first smart plug using the default and recommended instructions. The default process for the EP25 may be required if you are using Apple HomeKit. The Kasa app could not find nor connect to the smart plug when using the recommended WiFi setup option (as shown in the iPhone Kasa App). Various on-line recommendations talked about waiting 15 minutes for the HomeKit process to timeout. That still did not work. Finally, I found a recommendation on a TP-Link forum saying to SELECT BLUETOOTH for adding the smart plug to the Kasa app. Of course Bluetooth is only used for setup, and my iPhone controls the smart plugs using WiFi and cellular.

    Very Impressed by this product
    I have used the Wemo since it was introduced in 2012. In the last year or so I have been having various issues with connectivity. Always disconnects and the app does not detect the device. Belkin has completely destroyed a great product. Just purchased the Kasa EP 10 4 pack Smart plug. Easy to connect and works like the old Wemo did. I am going to order more.

    Easy to set up and use
    It takes under a minute to set up each new device. Plug it in, open the app, click +, connect to device WiFi (TP-Link), follow instructions (I.e enter your network WiFi password). I’ve had no issues setting up any of the 10+ devices that are in our network. Very simple and straightforward.It’s equally easy to set up and modify schedules for your devices. For our lights, my favorite are the adaptive schedules that are tied to sunrise and sunset vs. a set time. We also use them to control our kids’ nightlights and our Christmas decorations. I love not having to crawl around and hunt for the Christmas tree plug.The devices work flawlessly with our Alexa which is primarily how we interact with them. We’ll rarely use the app to add new devices, modify schedules and control lights when we’re out of the house.We bought this set of 4 smart plugs (Nov 2024) to replace another one that stopped working with Alexa (purchased 2021). This is the only device we’ve ever had an issue with. It’s a well-made, durable product.As far as the design, it is not slim. It plugs into the outlet with the plug on the front. Not an issue for us but may be an issue for some trying to get this in a tight spot behind furniture.

    First of all, it is nice that this product does not cover the whole socket. Hooking up to wifi was very easy and within minutes it was operational. Put them in my soffit socket so no more ladder to plug and unplug anything.
