I’m so happy with my choice
I definitely rely on reviews when making purchases on amazon, especially costly purchases. While a doorbell camera may not seen pricey, they can get expensive, but are certaintly important selections worth some thought and intention. I came across one very thorough review in particular. A man had stated he’d had (and used) all 3 or 4 popular doorbell motion detection style cameras and wrote an extremely detailed accounting of his experience using all three. While eufys camera was more expensive upfront, he felt it was a better deal in the long term because you aren’t paying for any monthly subscriptions. This was attractive to me because I’d prefer to not have to keep up with an extra bill no matter how inexpensive. The eufy camera also has a superior video and audio quality! I personally haven’t owned any other brands of door bell camera, but I’m very pleased with the features this camera and the software come with. The app that accompanies the camera is very user friendly, setting up your camera is fairly simple (a little time and patience is required, took me 30-40 min), and I love the options for recording and storing video clips as well as customizing motion sensitivity for battery life. I’ve had my doorbell for almost a month and have been extremely pleased with the speed at which it detects motion and begins recording. The app is very organized and keeps a daily record of “events” and is even able to detect individuals once it sees them for the first time. Downloading and exporting video events is also very easy! I’ve experienced no problems. I accidentally discovered that I had the ability to speak to someone in real time by customizing voice phrases other than the preloaded ones! Very cool and handy!Overall im extrenely satisfied with my eufy. I cant speak to the mounting because I opted for a solution that involves a frame that affixes to my door instead of drilling into my wall.I saved i think like $20 from the regular price. If you can catch it on sale , or swing the extra $ it costs for this brand, I highly recommend it for the quality, ease and peace of mind. I’m considering a second camera for my back porch.

The camera view is great n clear and battery last long/no monthly charges to see videos elsewhere
I love that you can watch the live video from the app and don’t get a monthly charge just to see your videos online. The picture is very clear and the night vision is also very clear. The battery if set at 30 second record only when doorbell is pressed the battery last a couple months. The view is great as you can see the person in front of camera from head to toe and has wide view also. Downloads and saves videos right to your doorbell ringer which you have to install a micro memory card . So all your videos are kept in the ringer memory so you can go into your app on your phone and see the old alerts or live view. When using the microphone to speak to the person at your door you can hear them great and you can respond with prerecorded messages or talk to them at real time it only has a 2 or 3 second delay . The doorbell ringer plugs into the wall which is pretty loud. Works with your Alexa app . Very simple to connect the camera with the ringer . Definitely alot better than other doorbell cameras that are more expensive and charge a monthly fee. You can pay a monthly fee to store your videos on the cloud for 60 or 90 days if I am correct for around 4.99 for the basic plan which has 24/7 security monitoring and alot more or the plus for 9.99 has 20% home insurance discount and custom monitoring settings and priority police dispatch for both plans 60 second police notification.

Easy to set up, easy to view
I purchased this as I was tired of paying an annual subscription to RING for my video doorbell. I have one on both the front and back doors. They work great, good clarity (not crystal clear, but not bad). The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star rating for me is the lag. When I get home from the store, I can be inside the house with the bags set on the counter before the alert goes off. My dogs pick up the slack, but it’d be better if it was more responsive. OTHERWISE no complaints.

Finally got working on WIFI but motion alert notifications are a nightmare
Eufy Security, Wi-Fi Video Doorbell Kit, 1080p-Grade Resolution, 120-day BatteryI had difficulty connecting this to a secured wireless network. I ultimately had to make a new secured wireless network and then it connected. It connected to unsecured wifi the whole time but I don’t want to run unsecured wifi. After the doorbell was working normally I made the mistake of enabling motion alerts. When a human walks in front of the camera it gets announced on all my Alexa devices that support announcements whicch is like 6 or 7 of them. After testing this alert I deceided it wasn’t for me and turned it off right where I turned it on. The motion alerts persisted and haven’t stopped to this day. Legend has it they are still haunting me to this day.1. I removed the doorbell devices from the Eufy Security App and deleted the app.2. I disabled the Eufy Security Skill that has to be enabled for this device to work with Alexa.3. I also deleted the doorbell and the base station devices from the Alexa App on my phone.Amazon support was not able to fix my issue. The motion alerts still persist. I can’t get them to stop unless I just take down the camera and put it back in the box. I tried to factory reset everything several times, the seting for doorbell motion alerts no longer matters. It can be toggled off or on or even everything deleted and the doorbell just keeps alerting. I’m not sure if it’s the camera, or Eufy Security App, or Alexa but there’s a problem using the motion alerts.I give up and I’m returning this doorbell. I can see why so many people have issues. I’m very technically competent and have been working in the I.T. support industry for over 20 years. I really like Anker stuff but this EUFY doorbell is one of the worst products I’ve ever purchased. I give up and I’m returning this. I really wanted this doorbell to work because I don’t want to pay a subscription. I guess the search continues.
