    Quality light strip, terrible adhesive
    This is an excellent product, aside from the 3M adhesive that comes with it.Pros:1) Quality lights with bright, vibrant colors set in a durable and flexible strip2) Excellent control over the colors/schemes using an app on my phone3) Using the app, the light strip can be paired with other GE Cync lights and controlled with them in groupsCons:1) The adhesive that comes applied to the unlighted side of the strip is basically worthless. The weight of the light strip is too much for the adhesive to handle, and it made mounting the strip extremely difficult for me. Even if you intend to install the strip adhesive side down where gravity will help to hold it in place, I strongly recommend planning to use an alternative method.2) If you intend to use extensions, the connection is pretty much bare wire and looks really fragile. I found this surprising considering the obvious durability of the strip itself. This ended up not being an issue for me as I was mounting the strip in a location where it will be protected and almost never touched/moved, but I still took extra care to reinforce the connections anyway. If you’re buying only this product and you’re not buying extensions separately, this is irrelevant to you.

    Awsome lights
    Great with ease of set up, easy to turn on and off, and looks great. I just wish the adhesive was better. Overall would buy again. Worth the extra bucks to not cheap out with an alternative.

    Everything works and it’s easy but the “bulbs” are far apart and there’s not much overall light. I was hoping to run it along the edge of a room where the wall meets the ceiling and add light but there’s no chance of that happening.

    You’ll need an app
    So, you are going to need an app for the GE CYNC smart lights to give you all those colors promised on the box. And to add them to your smart home network. And to have Alexa turn them on for you, or off. Not a big deal, I just didn’t have it when I did this review. But I can tell you this about these lights, they are easy to use. I had no problem figuring out how the light strip worked straight out the box. Everything was included in the box. Well there wasn’t any smart home hub, but you should be able to use the app to go you connected in all the ways you need. I can see they came preglue stripped too. Making the sticking of these to my walls, television or wherever I can find to stick these light to much easier. They have a few brackets that you can use too, if you want to lose your safety deposit. I think they’re worth it. Enjoy

    Impressive Full Color LED Light Strip
    I have owned many a light strip over the years and this is one of the best ones out there.Once you plug it in, you download the CYNC app, and add your light and adjust from there. You will have to sign up for a CYNC account if you don’t have one. You can then rename it, assign it to a room in your home, and even connect it with Alexa.The color options are almost endless. You have nearly the full color spectrum. You can select a color, and then how saturated that color is.This light strip does have obvious LED points (not diffused light), so you’ll want to use it in a way where you don’t actually see the light strip, but the light output instead. You can put it in places like above a kitchen counter, or behind a TV—anywhere you want the light to show, but don’t have to see the individual LEDs themselves. The strip is a whopping 16 feet long so it’s great for a kitchen, or a hallway, or a really large TV as bias lighting.Overall, this is a winner. If you need a light strip that’s flexible in shape and flexible in color options, this might be the one for you. Recommended.

    Failed in less than six months
    These lights are an older model now that they have the dynamic / sound responsive version. I bought these in October 2023 and they failed in March 2024, so about six months. Pretty disappointed in that lifespan. Also, the product’s app is filled with bugs and unreliable, but that’s another story. I have contacted GE and will see if the product is still under warranty. Otherwise, I would not recommend this product to anyone.
