The Ring Transformer enables smart controls for compatible low-voltage non-Ring landscape lights at home when paired with the Ring Bridge.
Ring Bridge, Ring Alarm Pro, Echo (4th Gen) or Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen) required to enable smart features, such as mobile notifications and customizable settings.
Add this to any Ring Smart Lighting Starter Kit with Ring Bridge so you can get notifications, customize settings, and connect to other Ring devices – all from the Ring app.
Requires one Ring Bridge (sold separately) placed indoors to connect non-Ring landscape lights to the Ring app, other Ring Smart Lights, and Ring doorbells or cameras to create a fully connected home security system.
The Transformer installs in minutes outdoors with the included mounting hardware and plugs into standard power outlets.
Transformer is compatible with any light fixture that requires 12V through 15V.

Work great. Excellent quality.
For $99 these are fantastic transformers. When you add in the wireless functionality theyâre a steal.I was previously using a Kichler transformer with a Smartthings outdoor plug. This mean that RING would send a âmotion sensedâ command to Smartthings which would then turn on the switch. Now itâs all integrated within the Ring ecosystem making it faster and more reliable.Overall build quality is fantastic. They have a smaller form factor than the big box brand versions. Theyâre also matte black instead of shiny metal which helps them blend in.You DO NOT need a bridge if you have the newest Amazon Echo device. I have one connected to the RING lighting bridge (backyard) and one connected to our living room echo (front yard).Very easy to wire in and the connections have stayed solid.

Good Product
Needed to replace an outdoor low voltage lighting transformer for backyard landscape lights. Had been using Intermatic transformers. They work by photocell detection. Inaccurate. they would go on anytime there was dim lighting, even during the middle of the day. And they would not turn off after the light returned to normal.Found the Ring transformer that works via the astro clock. So, it can be set to turn on at dusk and off anytime you set it. Easy to install, well constructed unit. And can be controlled by the Ring or Alexa apps.I liked it so much, I recently replaced a second one for my low voltage lighting in the front landscape of my house.

Great Wi-Fi Transformer
After an exhaustive search I settled on this Ring. Easy to setup and use. Convert your old transformer path lights to modern wireless controller. Great Ring Product. One caveat you also need a Ring Bridge to communicate with transformer. Not too expensive. Highly recommend if you want to change old transformer to wireless transformer.

Turns garden lighting into motion lighting
When paired with motion sensors, this transformer turns your garden lighting into a gigantic perimeter lighting system. This is a great security product. We have a set timer for when the lights are on. When the lights are off, this pairs with the Ring bridge and smart lighting product motion sensors. You can set the lights to activate when motion is detected. So you do not have to have your garden lights on all night. Simply place the motion detectors around the perimeter of the yard where you want to sense motion. When tripped, all the garden lights illuminate. No batteries! No solar panels! This cuts down energy costs while providing bright low voltage lighting security around the perimeter of your property.Initial setup was easy through the Ring App. I have placed two transformers on schedules using the app. I have had a few disconnects with the bridge where the lights would go out during their scheduled time. I am working out the potential causes of this. The transformers work flawlessly when linked to motion sensors. When outside the scheduled ties, the transformers turn on and stay on per the app’s scheduled times. For the transformer, I wish Ring would allow custom on-time settings. I would like the transformer lights to stay on 12 minutes after motion has been detected.

Easy Install with basic overall smart functionality, but still has room for growth.
First the pros: Though it was probably overkill, I purchased two boxes to ensure that I could run all of my lights. Due to our large yard, I had to bury over 200 feet of low voltage cable but I am sure purchasing just one of these boxes would have worked for all 200 feet. The mounting instructions and template were spot on. You have 3 wire inputs on the transformer itself: one for a common wire and two separate inputs for a 12 v and 15 v. All lights powered on and the linking both boxes to the Ring bridge and Alexa was very easy and straightforward. Now the cons: 1. Creating the light timing schedules is pretty simple, once you figure out where to go on the Ring app to do it. However, I was surprised to see that there was no sunrise/sunset timing option available in the app. Within the app itself, there is also no option to just turn the lights on for any longer than 1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minute and 30 minute options. At one point, there was a 4 hour option, but that has since disappeared and was only an option for one of the boxes anyway. On top of that, two separate devices for each box show up in Alexa discovery: one as a switch and one as a light. Using Alexa to turn on the light still follows the 4 option window, though this is not always the case. My best theory as to why this happens is that Ring does not want you to have these lights on during the day, but even at night, there are no additional options available and I am therefore still working to confirm this theory. When I tell Alexa to turn the landscape lights group on, sometimes the lights stay on for more than a few minutes, sometimes they don’t. It is a tad bit frustrating and the instructions do not address this or how to do anything after the installation of the boxes themselves. I understand, however, that the product is still very new and I am sure these issues will be addressed over the coming months as more people start to use it. Once the light power on options and the sunrise/sunset issues are addressed, this will easily be a five star item and offer a smooth transition into your smart home automation.

Oh lord I wish I knew!
200 w is not a lot for a full landscape lighting and walkway package. Burned out of three transformers before I hired an electrician who sent me this link. Want to surprise guests or have an auto shut off that is simple. If you have ring, you need this. Itâs terrific and so much cheaper than the traditional route!

Good functionality through Ring / Echo ecosystem
This unit performs well so far. Been through a couple rain storms as well. The functionality being integrated with Ring / Echo is pretty good. At first I thought it was impossible to get it to stay on but once dig through all configurations youâll see there is an option leave it on indefinitely.
