Doesnt work
I bought the water leak sensor with the hub and one door sensor because it has a hub which is required. It turns out that only one item can be attached to one meross hub at a time. I attempted to attach the leak sensor and window sensor on the same hub and it kicks the other off because the home kit label is on the meross hub not the item( water leak or window/door sensor) which means you cannot connect each item to homekit seperately if you already own a HomePod. So you would need a separate meross hub for every sensor which is insane, Where would one plug in all of these hubs for multiple windows and doors? Meross should be ashamed for selling such garbage. I am so disappointwd in this product as all my light switches are meross. I would not recommend the window sensors. MEROSS PLACE A HOME KIT CODE ON THE ITEMS AND STOP FORCING CONSUMERS TO BY YOUR USELESS HUBS which have weak connections.. The purpose of HOMEKIT IS TO USE THE HOMEPOD AS A HUB/BRIDGE

Easy install, Great Connectivity to Alexa
I own several Meross smart plugs and a garage door opener, and those work flawlessly. I expected nothing less from this Door/Window sensor. Meross did not disappoint. Installation was easy (no tools needed) and with the Meross App, once it connected to my home network Alexa immediately found the unit and added it to my device list. I was then able to create routines that would have Alexa announce every time the door opened and again when it closed. You can create routines that meet your needs (turn lights on, start appliances, etc.). This is compatible with Apple HomeKit, Alexa and SmartThings. For this unit, the Meross App will show the current status of the door (opened or closed).I placed this unit on the service door to my garage. This door is probably the most vulnerable as it is hidden from the street and not direct line of sight visible when entering the garage from the house. We now know, with certainty, whether the door is open or closed when we go to bed at night. We will also get a verbal notification should the door be opened at any point in time. The included HUB can control up to 16 Meross devices, so it could handle a house full of sensors.5 STARS AND I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEMI write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases. I read reviews too, and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that you find this review helpful.

The WORST I Ever Seen
Been using it for 3months and I can confidently say it is the worst sensor and hub Iâve ever seen. Disconnects almost daily. Sensor stops working every day. Reset/update does not solve the problem. I think the Meross products are quite cheaply made and I would suggest avoid them all together. Donât waste your money here.

These are really pretty bad! Buy knowing what to expect… NOT MUCH – HIT AND MISS!
UPDATED REVIEW – The hubs have been working pretty well now for a few weeks. Meross replaced 2 apparently defective sensors, and I now have a total of 2 hubs and 6 sensors which are “up” 90% of the time, when they go down it is mostly me making changes on my router.I am now pretty confident in them.ORIGINAL REVIEW -I bought 2 kits with the hub included and 2 more with just the sensors. They are all pretty unreliable. The good:1. The hubs and sensors are small and unobtrusive. The bad:1. The battery tray / holder / slot is too loose. The batteries will slide around / move if you have this part of the setup mounted on a door that is opening and closing. Battery will move and unit will lose power. I suppose it would happen less if this part of the sensor was mounted on the door frame or windowsill and not on the part that is moving. I tried using Scotch tape to hold the battery in place, it helps some but not enough. Other reviewers have said they turned the sensor upside down so the battery dose not slide down, this might work, you need to play with the setup. The sensor that contains the battery is one part of the equation, the other part is just a magnet in another piece of plastic.2. The “hub” constantly looses connection to WiFi. I have something like 52 devices connected to my network, quite a few of them are Meross devices, but these hubs are very delicate / sensitive / garbage? In summary, the idea is nice I own quite a few Meross devices, but these are not reliable, especially taking into consideration they are meant to notify you if doors or windows are open. it’s much different than an ambient light not responding.

Great addition to my Meross group / I wish
I have revised my review, sorry to say Meross got this product wrong. As they know it is a battery drainer, unreliable (losing signal) and needs reset by reinstalling battery. It is so bad I have the sensors on Velcro. Now I have a few that seem to work better than others but why would a great company put such a bad product out?I have been waiting for Meross to come out with this. Using it to mark open and close on outside metal shed 20×40′ approx. 100 ft. from home (note it does have its own WiFi). Easy to set up but had to figure out how to add a light to come on inside home when roll up door was opened,( it is in hubs settings pass open and close reports “automation”. It will control as many Meross devices you want but you have to hit the “+” mark to program each device you want to control but works well. Looking in to buying more sending units and would recommend it to others. Note after a few weeks the sending unit stopped working, after inspection I found the battery was loose due to the small tab in the battery holder. After pushing it in a bit the battery was tight and fixed the problem. It might be worth checking this connection before installing (had to remove unit to repair).

Easy to install… can be finicky
Easy to install and setup. Has a good 2 second lag which isn’t the best but it’s okay. Day one it completely dropped off the hub and I couldn’t figure out why. I had to take the battery out and replace it very carefully to get it to power back on. After a few more hours it stopped working again and I had to do the same thing, however, this time I mounted it horizontally to the top of a door frame to stop any shifting and it’s been working so far (I think I’m at day 4?). If it goes out again I’ll update this review.
