Works great!
I bought it to dim a set of string lights. It paired easily with my iphone in Apple’s Home app. Bought a second one to go with another set of string lights.

Best outdoor smart plug – easy integration with HomeKit
I was getting tired of resetting the outdoor timer for our porch lights to match shifting daylight hours especially fall and spring, not to mention every power outage (frequent for us in winter). Iâve had great success with Meross smart plugs in the past and it had good reviews on tech sites. Unfortunately you canât really trust Amazon reviews. What can I say? I plugged it in to an easy-access indoor outlet and lamp, scanned the code with my iPhone, labeled it, and it connected to HomeKit. Moved it to the porch lights, created automation to turn on at sunset and turn off later. Now if my kids are out late, I can just override the turn off and leave the lights on until their iPhone is home. I also randomly change smart lights when we travel (we have an AppleTV and a few HomePod minis, any of which give us secure access away from home).Easy to link, easy to use, rugged⦠I plan to get another next Black Friday week for Christmas lights! Meross is by far the most reliable and easiest brand of smart plugsâ¦and I donât do a thing after power outages or time changes. Worth every penny!

Horrible HomeKit Reliability
To start, it appears that you HAVE to make a Meross account before you can use. Unlike almost all other HomeKit products, you can’t exclusively use the HomeKit app to install it. Not a big fan of my email and password being stored on a server in China. After that, it took about 7 tries to get it to actually integrate into my Apple Home, but for some reason still couldn’t get it to integrate in the Meross app – not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. After finally getting to a point where I could control it in Apple Home, it was extremely finicky. Connectivity was laughable and unreliable. All said, I’ll likely be returning this garbage product.

Worked well for three years and then quit
It was easy to set up and worked as advertised for the most part. There were sometimes when it would randomly drop off the network, but that was infrequent. My biggest grip is that it quit after a couple years of use.

Excellent outdoor smart dimmer!
We setup this smart dimmer for our outdoor porch string lights, and it has been working great. There is an ability to power on, power off, and dim/brighten on the plug itself as well as within the app. The company app (Meross) works well to operate the lights. I did integrate this with Apple HomeKit — it took a couple of tries and resets, but once it was connected, I’ve had no issues since. Overall, this is a great smart dimmer at a fantastic price for the features offered. Definitely would recommend!

Reliable and fast
Initial pairing with the Apple Home app didnât work, but the second time did (which is on-par with my Apple Home experience). After that, this thing has been flawless. It runs both sets of my Harbor Freight incandescent string lights in my backyard and does a fantastic job dimming them.I have an automation set in Apple Home to turn the lights on for 5 minutes after my UniFi Protect camera detects motion. It always turns on within a couple of seconds to light things up for the dog.Iâd much rather this device be Matter over Thread so I donât have an additional device on WiFi, but Iâm okay with it in this case since I only really need one of these. But going forward Iâd much prefer Meross offer this so I can start adding additional devices to my Thread network.

Good support *if* you need it
I have a few Meross devices and they are reliable, this Outdoor Plug-In Dimmer is no exception: I use it to control my patioâs string lights, dimming them sets the mood. But what shines brightest is the support. About a year after setting it up, I had to âunpairâ this device to use a different WiFi setup. I couldnât find the HomeKit pairing code. Normally this is a sticker on the device but being outdoors it mustâve âweatheredâ off.Meross support was able to furnish a code simply by supplying the model and MAC address and solve this conundrum. Very pleased.

Confusing
A little difficult to program. Ended up successfully using iOS home. Only worked after restarting phone. Drops off constantly no matter what platform used.

Don’t waste your money on this. It’s been 13 months since I bought it and I used it indoors and now it keeps shutting off, shows no response on HomeKit, makes weird noises, and runs hot (when it does). It’s been used to drive two floor lamps with 2 9W LED bulbs in each since day one and I made no changes to anything, it just broke all of a sudden. Since it’s been over a year it seems that I cannot return it anymore. Total waste of money and time.UPDATE: The smart plug is officially dead and unresponsive. Meross’s reply was: Buy another product from us and we’ll give you 20% for being a “Good customer”. What a joke.

Easy install.Have a bunch of Meross products and all instal easyThe preset dimmer setting are okay (5 setting I think)Still found the brightness a bit too bright. However, if you use the app you can bring the light much lowerâ¦app allows you to get down all the way to 1%Application lâ¦string led lights under a gazebo roof.Ordered a second for a different application.
