Great camera, sturdy construction. Easy connect to WiFi and stays connected. But no continuous recording.
This camera is great. It has a sturdy construction and connects fast to WiFi. The camera also stays connected. I bought others (that I had to return) for about the same price but they wouldn’t connect or lost connectivity and you have to reset them. This camera has no problems with the WiFi at all, I use it with my standard modem from ATT 2.4Ghz (802.11).Easy set up and fast installation if you are handy. I wish it had a longer power cable but the one supplied is decent enough. The picture quality is good but small frame (about the same as others). Movement alert works fine, they sent an alert to the phone app and save a set of 5 pictures for 24hrs, which you have to save to your PC or phone.Its pretty easy to view from my android phone and my PC. I haven’t figure out how to record from PC yet but it can be done with my phone. Instructions are in English and easy to follow.Cons: As of July 2017, the cloud services are not available, which means that I have no automatic recording unless I do it myself from my phone while watching. The camera does not have an SD Card slot so it can’t do local storage unless you have a DVR system. Cloud storage is advertise as “coming soon” as of today.**That been said, if you want continuous recording you need to buy their set that includes a DVR system.**I am not taking a star off because I knew what I was buying and the price seems fair for the camera; there are plastic ones way more expensive that won’t connect.

Decent and Stylish camera – Good Imagery – Decent Price
As of July 13th 2017 I am updating my review. Since my initial purchase of this camera I’ve had a rocky start and mixed feelings…Initially I had high ratings for this camera and Zmodo. Then…Zmodo pulled the only software that could be installed on a Windows PC locally to view and record the video…Zviewer. I found out that Zmodo encrypts their cameras so the only applications that will pick them up is Zmodo’s software (that means that 3rd party apps will be unable to connect to Zmodo’s cameras. I tried…didn’t work). I suddenly had no means of recording the footage. Our camera is outside our home. It’s pointless to have it if I can’t record the video footage. I felt cheated as I had no control over what Zmodo what doing. So…my rating went down to 1 star and several upset messages sent to Zmodo. Since then Zmodo has has reinstated an updated version of the PC Zviewer software. Supposedly they updated security issues. I am now able to record the video from my camera to my PC again.Here’s the bottom line: As far as the equipment goes you’re getting a big bang for your buck. The cameras are stylish and the image quality is awesome. Zmodo is…as far as I can tell…an upcoming company who is slowly coming out with more to offer. My main need is the ability to record footage at home. It’s not practical to rely on a smartphone or tablet for recording…not when you’re using these for security purposes. You need the ability to record 24/7. You’re talking large file sizes which makes using smartphones or tablets via Zmodo’s app useless. Those devices don’t have the kind of storage needed for such recording. That’s why using the Zviewer software on my PC was needed as it gave me the ability to record to my local PC…and at no charge. I’m also not about to fork over a bunch of money monthly to use their cloud service so I’m left with one option…record to my PC. Then I found another option.With giving Zmodo a second chance I decided to go all out. We needed a few more security cameras and it’s far better to use the same brand all around so you can utilize one app to view all cameras. With the recent purchase of three additional cameras…two more of these outdoor cameras and an indoor camera…my PC is no longer going to be a viable option for recording. I needed another option. I came across a newer addition to Zmodo’s lineup: Their “Zmodo 8 Channel 720P HD Network Video Recorder with 500GB hard drive”. It was on sale for $150. Sure…I had to spend some extra money but in the end…I can connect up to 8 of Zmodo’s wireless cameras to this DVR and simply connect it to my monitor. I can use Zmodo’s app to view all cameras while the feed I want recording can be stored on the DVR…which spares my PC. I can still use the Zviewer software to view the cameras using my PC…and Zmodo’s app when I need to check on things while I’m out…and I have piece of mind that our outdoor cams are saving their footage on the DVR. Having an option like this made me think twice about Zmodo and in the end prompted me to give them another chance.So…at the end of the day what do I think? In all honesty for the price you cannot go wrong with a Zmodo camera. They look good…preform without issue…setup very easily…and the software is very easy to understand and utilize as well. They also have options now which should fit almost any situation. They still lose a star for the growing pains I had to go through…things they did that affected me as a customer…but I didn’t end up returning the camera even though I was going to and had the process started with Amazon. I instead canceled it and opted to purchase additional cameras. Think that says something. Just one word of caution: The more wireless cameras you have the more demand you’re putting on your network. While I do recommend this product now…if you’re thinking about having three or more of these…be sure your home network and your wireless router can handle the extra load. You are adding additional wireless devices to your network on top of what you are already utilizing (smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, etc). We had to update our router as our older one simply couldn’t handle the demand of all the wireless devices we had connected to it. Just food for thought. Thanks for reading. Me gusto mucho el producto, funciona muy bien en mi red WIFI, las cámaras cuentan con muy buen resolución, y el dvr es muy fácil de operar.
