Looks dated but a really nice doorbell
There is a lot to like about this doorbell and overall its well worth the price. The biggest advantage is no monthly subscription. You’ll still have to pay if you want cloud storage, but you can just store videos to a micro sd card if you want and you’ll still have full access to all of the doorbells features without the subscription. The video quality is excellent and the framrate is very smooth. The field of view was also pretty good and I am easily able to identify who’s at my door. The AI detection works very well, I like that I only get notifications if a person is at my door. Sometimes it will classify my cat as a person but that only happens about once or twice a week so not a deal breaker. The app is very easy to use and has great features. My doorbell connected to it without a problem and I was able to set the whole thing up in about 5 minutes. The app is also very responsive and video feeds load almost instantly.Overall I’m very impressed with this doorbell and Tapo products in general. I highly recommend this brand if you just want a simple camera system to keep an eye on things without costing to much. My last system was Wyze and Tapo is leagues better and not that much more expensive. Tapo cameras have way better video quality, a much less buggy app and doesn’t require the annoying monthly subscription for useful features like human and pet detection like Wyze does.

Don’t buy. The product stopped working after a couple months.
At first the product worked pretty well, but after a couple months the doorbell wouldn’t turn on.I tried to get it replaced but they make you jump through a ton of hoops to get a replacement unit mailed out. It didn’t even matter anyway because they charged me $130 (which is more than what I can purchase it for from Amazon right now) for a new unit because fedex did not deliver the unit to them fast enough, which isn’t even my fault. This was such a terrible experience, it is one of the few times i’ve even bothered to write an amazon review

Works ok but doesn show the ground and battery only lasted two weeks between chrarges
My old RING doorbell battery lasted about three months between charges. For some reason, this one with a large battery only lasts about two weeks for us, even with the setting turned on to ignore cars and animals. The picture is good, and the Tapo app is easy for my wife to use, although I prefer the TP-Link Kasa app (the more advanced sister brand). I will try tweaking it more to minimize the battery charge. Otherwise, it’s okay, not great, and you have to buy the hub to use it, which is not a requirement with other brands.

No Cloud or Subscription Required
My favorite feature of this doorbell is that you can save videos to an SD card in the (included) hub. You don’t need a subscription. The provided mounting instructions, templates, and adhesive made it reasonably straightforward to mount.Once installed, it provides a decent quality video image, reliable doorbell (at least with my nearby WiFi), and a usable app to get notifications. I used the two-way audio occasionally, and it seems to work fine, but I don’t use it very often. The battery has lasted a couple of months so far, probably due for a charge, which seems like I’ll have to figure out how to take down the doorbell again, but I’m happy enough with the battery life. We don’t have a huge amount of door traffic, but if we did, perhaps I’d recommend a wired version (which is also less bulky and less expensive, but requires installation of a cable). The lens is very wide-angle, and for our installation, I think I might prefer more zoomed in pictures of faces, but it’s still completely acceptable.I like it enough to get a second one for our back door.

Good camera, bad doorbell.
It functions well as a door bell camera but a glaring problem arises when you watch videos of your deliveries. Nobody can tell where the button is. There is two round things (camera lenses and motion sensor) that look the size of standard buttons and they always get pressed first. Then you have the spotlight which lights up at night and looks like a third thing you can confuse for the button. Meanwhile the actual doorbell button is inconspicuous and has no lighting and the stickers that say press here donât adhere right so parts of the letters may be missing. I often get no ring with deliveries because they just press the wrong thing and can even leave smudges all over the camera lense. As a camera I think it works well and am impressed with its battery life so far (battery life will be better or worse depending on how active the area in front of your door is, more activity = more recording = lower battery life and vice versa). It just lets me down in the doorbell area.

The camera works well, and I like Tapo brand. As long as you have 2.4gz WiFi, this camera will work good. But the ad says up to 180 days battery. Not even close, I have this set to low motion sensor and it last at most two weeks, then needs to be recharged, recharging takes about 4-5 hours so I think I will have to get a back up battery
