    Great bulbs, great price
    I installed these in my kitchen, replacing 6 old school incandescent bulbs. This isn’t my first rodeo with smart devices. I have around 50 smart Alexa-controlled bulbs and plugs around my home from quite a few different manufacturers.Setup on these was seamless and straightforward. I’m fairly technical, but the product comes with a clear, step by step instruction sheet and a polished app. They should be easy even for someone who isn’t technical to install by just following step by step. Following the instructions, everything worked as described for me on the first try, and all the bulbs in my 6-pack were good – no defective ones.After installation, they perform similarly to other smart 8W RGBCW BR30 bulbs I’ve installed. No complaints.If you’re new to these kind of bulbs and upgrading older incandescent bulbs, there are a lot of advantages. It’s nice that to know that all 6 of these bulbs are using less power at full brightness than just 1 of the old ones, which is good for the electric bill. They also stay much, much cooler than traditional bulbs.Controlling them by talking to Alexa is awesome. You’ll never want to go back once you’ve experienced that convenience. You can also put them on schedules (Routines in Alexa), and control them from anywhere you have an Internet connection. And you can control the brightness without a physical dimmer switch.In terms of the white colors, they are noticeably brighter than 60W incandescent bulbs. I’d guess it at 30-50% brighter, and you get control over the warmth or coolness of the white light on demand. There’s a nice range from warm to cool whites to find what you like. For me, setting these bulbs to the warmest white setting at about 30% brightness very closely matches the incandescent bulbs I replaced.In terms of non-white colors, they are noticeably dimmer than the white colors. Based on my experience with bulbs from quite a few different manufacturers, this is normal and not anything defective about these particular bulbs. It’s just the way it is. But the colors are still nice for some ambience and mood lighting.Other than that, the price on these are great! The app seems nicely polished – simple but effective for controlling all the features. I probably won’t use the app much after installation though, as I just use the Alexa app and Echo devices. I can’t speak to the longevity of these bulbs at this point, but will update my review if any have issues in the near term.

    Extremely easy to customize
    Not gonna lie… I was concerned after reading other reviews about how easy the process of set up would be. Here is the deal- set them up one bulb at a time, follow the instructions and it goes just fine. Yes, it was a bit tedious especially means I did 11 bulbs but that is because each bulb is its own smart hub/device… to me, that is worth the time. I have set up Alexa integrations- including getting her to change bulb colors, run groups of lights vs the whole array (which was my main reason for buying) and even run routines like “Red Alert” and “Intruder” where she does multiple actions. Mind you most of that is Alexa functionality not the bulbs but they work seamlessly with her.Only concerns I do have is when they are colored the lighting is dimmed quite a bit- but that is fine as when they are white they are super bright (and can be controlled from warm to cool white) and that a couple of them seem to have a mind of their own sometimes. By that I mean if I leave the switch to all of them on I have had the same 2 turn themselves on when the last command given was to be off… this could be a user error thing as I just got them yesterday but it is the same two and once was in the middle of the night so I know no one was in the app on my phone or running an alexa prompt. Will keep an eye on it and update if it continues to be an issue.The overall value is 10/10. Way cheaper and just as functional as the more expensive brands.

    Does not stay connected to network/app
    I have almost 50 “smart” devices on my network and these are by far the worst! They will not stay connected to the network. I’ve been fiddling with them for over a year to get them to work correctly and am 100% fed up. They work great for a few days when you re-pair them and than they start to give you grief. Within a month or so they will just not work. They will pop on when I open the app, but as soon as I close it they drop off again. I almost exclusively use devices through the Smart Life App and that was a selling point on these. Would not buy again, and will be looking to replace.
