Vibrant Colors, But watch the pins when connecting.
I have installed a few of the SENGLED light strips in my house. They work well and are easy setup and less expensive than the Phillips Hue product line. These tie into my scenes well. The colors bright and are very vibrant. These are easily shortened but to set interval length.Cons:CONNECTION: The connection to the power cable to the actual light strip is a little tricky. Tiny pin must line up perfectly to the power cable. This proves the initial connection to be a little daunting and prone to potentially bending pins. Connect carefully.ADHESIVE BACKING: Take care when exposing the adhesive backing. The double-sided adhesive is easily removed from the back of the light strip when attempting to expose the adhesive. Otherwise, the adhesive is very solid and holds up well.

    Works with Hubitat Elevation!
I really like Sengled’s Zigbee LED bulbs. I have many throughout my home directly paired with my Hubitat Elevation Hub. They work very reliably and have never dropped off the Zigbee network (something that I could never say regarding my previous ‘smart’ bulbs.) When I saw that Sengled had released a RGBW LED strip I bought one right away. As usual, Amazon delivered it quickly. Set up was pretty trivial, and within a few minutes I had it paired to my Hubitat Elevation hub. It paired as a generic “device”, so I changed the device driver to Hubitat’s ““Generic Zigbee RGBW Light”. I clicked CONFIGURE within Hubitat and that was all it took. Fully functional within Hubitat, very good color reproduction, and fast response times. I reported the Zigbee “fingerprint” to the Hubitat support team and they agreed to add this to one of their upcoming firmware releases to make the pairing process as smooth as other officially supported devices.I plan on installing this LED strip, and possibly a few more, as under-cabinet lighting, as well as on top of my cabinets in the kitchen. I am waiting for the 1m extension strips to be released and will then figure out exactly how to get these installed, hopefully with minimal modifications.Nice work, Sengled! Please keep on innovating and releasing great products!

Wish Sengled would write a Hubitat driver
I absolutely love these LED strips. They’re reasonable in every aspect; brightness, reliability, expandability, price. They reliably pair with Zigbee controllers, and in my case I use the Hubitat Elevation home hub to give me automation without cloud dependencies. The only minor complaint I have is Sengled doesn’t have their own Hubitat driver, so I’m reliant on a community-developed option that is reasonable, but has room for improvement. As a contrasting example, Inovelli has a Hubitat driver for their switches and dimmers that is incredibly feature rich; would love to see Sengled do the same. The greatest issue for me, easily solved by a great driver, is color choice, where Hubitat wants to use names that translate down to hues, and Sengled wants to use 0-100 RGB plus saturation, so you’re stuck playing with custom values to find the color you want. You can add up to six of the extensions to the base controller-attached strip, cut them, attach them, bend them, etc. I lined the edges of my theater couch so you can walk around it even when the room is dark. I’ve done under-cabinet with 90-degree bends around corners. I’ve cut them to get the perfect length. Just overall I’m very happy with the product.

Under Cabinet Lighting! Easy project that you can do on your own
Get ready to earn brownie points with the wife… This project was very easy to do and adds another dimension to your kitchen.I chose these light strips due to:1. They integrate into my smart home solution2. Can easily change the color of the strip to millions of different colors (match the ceiling light color (warm/soft/white/cool/daylight), change colors for the holidays, change to a certain % during different times of day (e.g. 50% light at 10pm, 25% light at 1am), etc…)3. Can cut or add to the length of the strip to fit your dimensions4. Has a individual controller that has a button that you can manually turn on/off if needed each light strip5. Cheaper than other name brand smart light strips6. Fits nicely into aluminum tracks with diffuser. As you can see in my pictures, I installed two lightstrip bases to bridge the gap on either side of the microwave. Most people have an outlet above the microwave so I just bought a outlet adapter that fit two lightstrip base plugs. I drilled holes in the cabinets and ran the Sengled wires through the cabinets up to to the outlet.I also used aluminum tracks with diffusers to minimize the hotspots. This light strip will fit just barely into the track but if you push it in, it keeps it snug in place. Note: once you push it in, it is very difficult pulling it out without destroying the strip. Make sure you do all of your measurements before you secure the light strip into the track. You can find that material here:(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IY1L2B2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXHKC4Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)You will also notice that I had dividers between my cabinets that I had to cut through. I used a hack saw to cut up from the bottom to the base of the cabinet. I then used a dremel with a 1/2″ wood cutting disc to cut out the horizontal piece.I have my light strips integrated with my smart home environment (Sengled, Alexa, Philips Hue, SmartThings). I added a Hue motion sensor to the kitchen so the lights turn on/off with motion/schedules using alexa routines. For example, Lights turn on at 50% at 6am, when motion is detected they turn on to 100%. When no motion is detected it drops back down to 50%. I have multiple routines setup like this throughout the time of day depending on how much light is needed. Obviously at 1am you don’t want to be blinded by 100% light.I’ve seen a lot of people, including myself, trying to solve a few known issues.1. Q: How to gap the microwave? A: I was unable to find any viable adapters to run a non-lighted distance. I also didn’t want to deal with trying to solder anything. Buy two lightstrip bases and treat them as two separate installs. Group them together in the Sengled app so they act as one.2. Q: How do you make a 90 degree turn? A: There’s no special trick to making a 90 degree turn. The light strip will not lay flat about 4 inches in either direction. Just turn the strip sideways about 4 inches on both sides of the 90 degree turn. With the aluminum track with diffuser, you will not notice light loss. (see my corner pictures).3. Q: there’s hot spots with this light strip. A: use deep depth aluminum tracks with diffuser. The deeper the track, the less hotspots you will have. The tracks linked above worked really well for me.4. Q: I don’t have a smart home and want to control the lights. A: you can control the lights using the Sengled App or buying a $20 sengled switch that can be attached anywhere with no wiring required: https://www.amazon.com/Sengled-Smart-Light-Switch-Required/dp/B07QHDV5S4For this project, you will need a1. dremel with a metal/wood cutting disc. (cutting aluminum tracks/wood dividers under cabinet)2. drill with 1/2 drill bit3. hacksaw (if you have cabinet dividers underneath that you need to cut through)4. Outlet adapter (if running multiple base plugins)5. Tape measure6. Scissors (cutting light strip / plastic diffuser)7. Marker/pencil for marking measurementsI have spent years trying to figure out how to add under cabinet lighting without spending $1000s+ on an electrician/materials. As long as you have an outlet accessible and are semi handy, you can do this.Hope this information helps!

They are ok I do like the philips hue better. These are cheaper and you can tell. It’s not that they are bad, just not as good a Hue.

Do not buy this light strip if you already have the Philips Hue ecosystem. The light strip is NOT compatible with the Philips Hue bridge, even though it says “Zigbee compatible” on the box. Sengled uses a different Zigbee standard, which makes your choice of Hub rather difficult. I’m already set up with a Philips Hue Bridge. I never had problems before adding third-party Zigbee smart devices. Sengled is the first one that I encountered that says Zigbee on the box but doesn’t work with Hue. I returned the item because the incompatibility rendered it useless for me.To be fair: if you don’t have (and don’t want) Philips Hue in your home then Sengled might be fine if you stick to their hubs and bulbs.
