    Good quality solar panel
    I upgraded my Ring camera to a new version. My previous camera used a mini USB, and the solar panel couldn’t charge it fully. Unlike the old one, this new camera uses a Type-C port and can maintain a 100% charge even during the winter. It’s easy to install. However, you can’t use the previous holes where the old solar panel was mounted, as the pattern is different. Everything works well.

    This is one of the only solar powdered products that actually works. As long as you have good sun exposure, this solar panel keeps my Ring camera fully charged. As I live in Florida, it gets a lot of good sun. Not sure how this would work up north.

    Update: Ring got in contact with me and assisted. They were able to figure out that the Solar Panel was not the issue. They swapped out the camera and the panel has been doing great! ***** Does not keep charge. It has been repositioned several times. Receives great energy. But will not keep a charge!!!! Can’t exchange anymore so now I’m having to invest $$ in Another

    Works okay if you have sufficient direct sunlight
    The first one I received was defective. It was returned and the replacement is working well. The panel does charge the battery of my Stick Up Cam. However, if you need to use many of the advanced features and the weather is cool to colder, 60 to 40 degrees it can’t seem to keep the battery charged. It supplements the battery during the day so it stays moderately charged, but the battery still drains overnight and by morning you’ll need to put in a new fully charged battery. So, it adds sufficient power to keep the camera working overnight till about 4 to 5 am. Then you’ll need a second fully charged battery to exchange for the now depleted battery. This only works for this length of time if you have a sunny day. If it’s cloudy then the panel will not work sufficiently to keep the battery charged. I’m hopeful the panel will work better in warmer sunny weather. Changing batteries, having to use a ladder to do so twice a day is very irritating. I have another Ring Stick Up Cam that also uses a smaller older solar panel and it seems to be working much better then this supposed improved one. So, colder cloudy weather might leave you a bit unhappy with this product. Overall it does charge the battery a little.

    I have it with a gutter mount and the Sun is all that recharges the camera. Definitely worth it. I have the camera on all the highest settings to drain the battery and it has never come close to being flat.

    Great addition to Ring cameras. Was fed up charging battery every six weeks or so so took a punt and bought this. So happy I did. Have not had to charge battery for 4 months now, always fully charged even with more power thirsty settings. Highly recommended.
