My honest review after 2 years of using the Ring Chime Pro!
I bought the Ring Chime Pro because I have a Ring Doorbell and a Ring Floodlight that are on opposite ends of my house and are outside so they are far from my internet modem. I wanted to get this to potentially prevent any issues with internet connectivity. After 2 years of use, this is my honest opinion about it.The device itself is reasonably priced, although it cost as much as the doorbell camera itself which doesn’t make sense to me. It is super easy to install, it literally just plugs into any outlet and you can connect it to internet easily with the Ring app (instructions are step-by-step and easy to follow). It is located in my hallway, which is a halfway point between my 2 cameras. I love the little nightlight that turns on when it senses a dark room because this improves visibility in my otherwise dark hallway at night. The Chime is SUPER customizable in the Ring app and you can set different tones/volumes for different events (doorbell ring, motion detection, person detection). This has never randomly disconnected from my internet over the years so it has good connectivity. It is sleek and looks good in my home. It is also somewhat flush against the wall making it difficult for my baby to play with or remove from the outlet which is a HUGE plus (she tries to play with it but has never been able to pull it out of the wall so she loses interest quickly). As far as improving the signal to my Ring devices, I will say that my doorbell camera has never lost connection HOWEVER my floodlight camera rarely but occasionally still loses internet access if there is bad weather. My garage is pretty far away though, and there is no other outlet that I could put this in that makes sense and it only happens very rarely so it isn’t really a huge deal when it happens. I have owned signal boosters in the past that were a bit strong than this one, but it does the job and it acts well as a doorbell chime if you don’t have an Alexa hub that can chime for you.Overall, if you are looking for a doorbell Chime to link to you Ring devices with the added bonus of boosting internet signal, I would recommend getting this Chime device. It has worked well enough for me over the years and I do not regret my purchase.Hope this helps!

    Night Light Feature
Works great! It connected with my ring doorbell with a very easy setup. It also comes with a night light that provides a dim light on the bottom of the device.

    Wifi Extender?? Update
Update 8-19-24.Upgrad to 5 stars. Ring saw my post & called me to assist my issues with the chime pro. They helped me change the settings & the signal is now great. The new router helped and it was probably time to upgrade router since im trying to make my home a “smart home”. Ring tech support went above & beyond calling me after the review & patiently helping. The tech was awesome. Very impressed with Ring customer service.Old postThe wifi extender did not prove to help signal at all. I bought another regular chime for upstairs bedroom. Ended up having to buy new router because wifi extender didnt work at all. The old router worked fine but not with ring signal. I’m not sure I would have bought the chime pro if I knew wifi extender wasn’t going to work. I have the ring enabled with 2 Alexa devices which announce action from ring. The doorbell sound is pleasant in Westminister & loud enough. I did find the sound setting for those who said it was not loud enough. Just find the sound setting & turn it up. Still reviewing. Not giving up yet.

Wifi bridge gives my Ring Security Cam a much better signal. Reasonably priced.
I’ve had a Ring Doorbell for quite a while now and recently installed a Ring Floodlight Cam over my garage for extra security and monitoring. I live in an older house with thick walls and unfortunately there are several internal walls and two exterior walls between my wifi router and the Ring Floodlight Cam and the wifi signal is very weak and constantly dropping out. I have several old routers laying around I could set up as a wifi bridge, but rather than go through all the hassle, for 60 bucks I thought I would try the Ring Chime Pro as an easier off the shelf solution first.Configuration was super easy and I had it up and working in less than five minutes. When my contractor first installed my Ring Doorbell, he hooked it up to my old mechanical doorbell so I could hear when somebody is at the door like before. However, after several months that stopped working. It is nice to now have an audible sound when somebody is at the door again, especially if I have guests and leave the house with my phone. It would be nice if there were more than 16 ring sounds to choose from, but it is adequate.I put the Ring Chime Pro in the front room of my house with less walls between it and the Ring Floodlight Cam but unfortunately, the wifi extender feature was still too weak to reliably connect to it. I finally ended up putting the Ring Chime Pro in the kitchen on the wall at the very front of the house and that was finally the magic spot for the wifi extender to give a solid signal. The Ring Floodlight Cam is now super fast and the most responsive I have experienced. The house has an open floor plan so the doorbell chime is still easily audible through out the house as well where it is currently installed. There are a few negatives. The Ring Chime Pro does not run hot but it does run pretty warm. The spot in the kitchen where I have it installed is near the oven but luckily the oven throws off very little heat so I think it will be ok. Also, the Ring Chime Pro has a light sensor which is supposed to automatically turn on and off the nightlight when it is dark. Even though my kitchen is pretty well lit, especially in the daytime, the nightlight is always on 24/7. The Ring Doorbell and Ring Floodlight Cam software lets you schedule when to alert or not alert. Hopefully someday the software will also let you schedule when the nightlight feature should be active, but for now I just disabled it.The doorbell chime and wifi extender features are great. The nightlight feature needs a configurable schedule, but might work ok for some people. The unit does run on the warm side which might be an issue over time if installed in an area that has high temperatures. Overall for the price, I would recommend the Ring Chime Pro.

    Chime pro with no complaints
Chime pro works well with no complaints. Super simple connectivity if you already have cameras. Wife won’t let me keep the nightlight on that shines from the bottom of the chime 😢
