    Additional Length
    I only gave it 4 stars since Ring should just give us consumers with longer cords when we buy their products. I needed this to lengthen the cord that came with the Ring stick up cam since only a chintzy, short cord was supplied. Reality is typically one needs a longer cord. Not everything is going to be plugged into a nearby outlet.

    I just installed it with a new stick up cam and solar panel. So far it works fine. I cannot speak to its longevity. I hope it lasts, because it it outside exposed to the elements. I did take some tape to cover and protect the joint where the cord supplied with the solar panel attaches to this extension cors. It is just a barrel plug, nothing special done by Ring to offer protection for that joint. I was a bit annoyed that I had to buy this item, because I feel that the cord supplied with the Ring solar panel should be longer to allow the panel to be placed in the best position to get the most sunlight, and the short cord that came with the solar did not do it for me.
