Excellent camera for the price, especially if you are already in the Reolink ecosystem
If you need a solar powered camera that can cover a large area, and can effectively detect people and vehicles this might well be it – with a few conditions.I have a lot of cameras, they are now all Reolink. Most of them are POE and connected to a 16 port NVR, this is one of three that are not NVR connected – but it works almost as well.I use this camera on the edge of my property where i still have Wi-Fi coverage, but don’t have readily accessible power. This is the ideal use case. If you don’t have good Wi-Fi where you are placing this camera it will struggle. The camera and solar panel are excellent quality. Packaging was excellent, setup was sophisticated and simple (I am very technical, but i think if you are able to setup a basic wireless router you can handle this camera). I was pleasantly surprised by how well the solar feature works. Without the solar panel this camera ran on battery for about three full days before i started getting nervous and plugged it in to USB C power and charged it. It would likely have run longer if i didn’t have the spotlight and motion detection and various other features turned on. With the solar panel attached the unit stays charged. It does not take long in the sun for the battery to get what it needs – even with all of the bells and whistles turned on – it is really quite impressive.I have also been pleasantly surprised by how well this camera determines the difference between a person, vehicle and pet (even though it thinks the squirrels it sees frequently are pets – i can’t hold that against it). With the addition of a Micro-SD card this camera suits my use beautifully and detects, tracks, lights up and records everything that goes on at the far end of my yard. Mounting options are a bit limiting as the mount angles the camera down a little, in order to maximize the motion capture and viewing position of the dual lenses. If you are able to mount this flush on a wall that is exactly what you want and the range it can cover from that position is great, the spotlight from a battery powered camera is quite effective within twenty to thirty feet as well. It is no flood-light, but it is bright enough to get your attention and let you know you’re being watched. Excellent value for money and a great product if your use case is similar.

    Best Camera I’ve Used
I have owned and used several different brands of cameras at my home, family members, and some non-profits that I volunteer for at which I serve as the administrator. Reolink is by far the best cameras for the money. Set up is easy and the app is very user friendly. As for this particular camera, this is by favorite so far. The picture quality is amazing during the day and if you use the spotlight feature at night it is great. I love the 2 views from the dual lens camera feature. The tracking works very well. There are various settings that you can use that makes it work in a way that suits you best. I have recommended it to friends (which they have purchased and love) and other people who are in the market for a solar camera. Keep in mind, that I am using both Reolink NVR systems, wired wifi cameras and multiple models of their solar cameras. With that being said, during my first purchase, some reviews were negative of tech support for them. I have had nothing but positive experiences the few time that I have needed tech support. I would recommend this camera to anyone. Just to be clear, I am not a paid reviewer, but just a very satisfied customer.

    Meh
I have other Reolink cams and wanted to stick w this universe and the one app. This Argus met all my requirements 4k, WiFiv6, solar so got it during Prime days for a decent price. Setup and mounting were as expected and the app functions too.Now the Meh… It is very slow to start recording motion. I have the cam zone covering my driveway and the mailbox which is ~100 ft away. It rarely captures the mail truck and rarely captures ME going to get the mail. It is regularly triggered by cars passing by but the tail of the car is all I see because the thing takes too long to start detection then recording. It is consistent w motion within 10 feet… Once it starts recording!I will keep the unit since I have had it over 6 weeks now. The 4k is nice!

It does really do what they came it will do.
What I didn’t like about the camera. It’s not the design that’s the prettiest of all. That’s definitely the truth. It’s the way it functions overall. Even though you go into the app and you change the settings to what you want the camera does not function to the settings that you’re setting at. I deleted the app and reinstalled it per request of Reolink. Who by the way took three days to answer after three request. Their customer service is not the best in the world that’s for sure. You can call the 800 number they won’t answer. You can leave a message for them to call you back, which I did and they never did. But back to the camera looking at it live I will admit that it is very spectacular. The lenses are good in what you see live is fantastic. But it will not and I repeat, will not even after having several friends that I know that have cameras, different ones and knees. Try to adjust all the settings to make it do what they claims to do.. It just doesn’t do it. After several days and several temps. I packed it up and sent it back. The only problem that I’m fighting is and I think a lot of other people are having the same issue is dealing with companies that are located in China or Hong Kong. I am going to try and seek cameras where there is a relationship and a number to talk to somebody in the United States or either in Canada. Like my neighbor. He has alibi cameras. Hasn’t had the first problem with them in two years. Maybe by being so doggone cheap I shouldn’t be. I probably wouldn’t have this problem. Maybe it’s worth it to spend a little extra money to get the right stuff that works.

I was really looking forward to using this compact Argus Track, as it is one of the few Wi-Fi wireless cameras I have found that does not require and App or Smartphone. It’s ability to connect to a PC client is what attracted me. Unfortunately, after receiving and failed attempts to connect to my Rogers/Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway 3.2 router, upon contacting support I was made aware the Argus Track does not support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), only Wi-Fi 5.Sad to say I will have to return this camera and keep searching.Update:I have increased my rating form 3 stars to 5 stars due to the fantastic customer service provided by Sandy at Reolink. I did end up purchasing the Reolink Altas PT Ultra, a Wi-fi 6 camera directly from Reolink, as at the time it was not available on Amazon.ca.

This is my second purchase in a week of this camera. Very Impressed so far. A little problem setting up but figured it out after a bit and yes I am a senior with not much computer skills. I may have to call them yet just to answer a couple of questions but overall a good buy, or so I think. The camera does not recognize the SD card and keeps saying it is not formatted to which it is. Will have to call the company I gues, ANy suggestions?
