Do You Need an Extra Accessory?
Step 1 Use pliers to short the wall button terminals, if the garage door opens or closes, it works. Otherwise, please go to point 2.

Step 2 If point 1 fails, your garage opener is from Chamberlain/LiftMaster/Craftsman. MSG100HK will still work(needs an extra accessory). Installation Steps
Step 1 – Compatibility Check The product is compatible with more than 1600 models and 200 brands. Please follow the instructions to complete a simple compatibility test.
Step 2 – Connect the Phone Connect your smartphone or tablet to a 2.4GHz network and ensure that your smart device is covered by a powerful network signal.
Step 3 – Install the Sensor Please make sure the distance between the two sensors is less than 1 inch when the garage door is closed.
Step 4 – Deploy the Device Install the wire from the sensor to the garage door opener. We recommend deploying the device on top of your existing garage door opener.
2.4GHz WiFi network support only: If you keep failing during the setup process and your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, you may need to temporarily turn off 5GHz on your WiFi router and make sure your smart device is always covered by a strong 2.4GHz WiFi signal.

Great WiFi Smart Plugs.
I love they came in a very small package. Two smart plugs at this price was so tempting.Extremely easy to set up with Apple HomeKit, just plug it, scan the QR code with HomeKit app and device will be added to your home group right away. If you already have a Meross account and have linked that account to Google Home and Alexa, adding this WiFi Smart Plugs will take less than 5 minutes. You just need to add it to your Meross account by selecting the right type of outlet, connect it to your 2.4 GHz network, and that is it. Then they will appear in your google home and Alexa app almost instantaneously.It is very convenient that you can use them with your favorite assistant application. I will certainly get more as I automate most of my devices at home.They have a very small footprint. The side button is a big plus, it is easy to manually turn it on or off even if the whole front is covered.(An issue I run into in the past with other smart plugs) Status light is small and not very bright, at night you will not even notice they are in your room.I have been using their previous smart plugs for over 2 years. (We also have a dimmable switch)They have been adding more features to the app to create routines based on time, as well as scenes to control several plugs at once. It is good that they always keep the settings even if you unplug them for several weeks. I have never had any issue with the smart plugs.From time to time the app logs me out, more likely than not after an update.I totally recommend this brand and any device made by them.

These plugs work with HomeKit but are finicky to install
First off, these plugs are integrated into our HomeKit system and they work well. However, they were difficult to attach to our network. We have a Linksys Velop tri-band mesh system. In order for these plugs to be initialized and connected to our Wi-Fi, we had to make sure we were at the farthest reach of one of our stations to ensure we were likely on the 2.4 ghz band. In our case, the garage was the perfect place to get these plugs on the network. It took between 1 and 3 tries – moving around a bit each time – for the operation to be successful.One surprise was that the app you download does not handle the connection to HomeKit. Once the serial number was scanned and we connected to the plugâs Wi-Fi, the HomeKit app opened and handled the rest of the connection process.

Firmware update a nightmare, beware privacy breach
I purchased a few of these a few months ago and was able to install without any problems using apples HomeKit. However recently I got a firmware update notification in the apple Home App. It says to install the firmware app using the Meross app, but when you go to do this the app does not recognize the devices. When you go to add them to the Meross app the devices donât pair, and they are left unusable until you clear them out of the HomeKit and reinstall. Wasted 3 hours fooling around with this. Had to shut off my home router and reinintialize everything. The app is a total joke, and also make you register with them to their Chinese site, which frankly, eliminates the advantage of HomeKit and its privacy.Updated: I now believe that these units are used by the Chinese to spy on your personal network. I would advise placing these on an isolated node behind a firewall unless you want your personal information stolen.

Programming the routine
Worked as expected. I did not want to set up a routine where the smart plug was turned off and on on a set schedule but wanted to turn it on or off when I needed to when away from home. Had to use the routine and set it to turn the smart plug off at a certain time (turned the day of week off), and then had to setup and another routine to turn the smart plug back on again a minute later (again with day of week turned off). I have a blink camera that would go offline if there was a glitch in the internet coverage in the area, and would have to manually turn the blink camera sync module power off and back on to reset it and allow the blink camera system to work properly again. I can now power it off and on remotely when I see that our camera system has gone offline and this device allows me to get it working again.

Update: Problems after a couple days
Update: only a few days in and the plug is unresponsive even after resetting. Not super happy about that. May return if I can’t get it work again.I set these up using HomeKit, took all of 2 minutes. They work flawlessly within the Apple Home app, no need for another app download to set up. I’ve had Amazon smart plugs and this one was way easier to set up. Highly recommend!
