Nice, with a Learning Curve
I’ve used these lights for some time, when a family member gifted me a light bulb for a very particular situation – a pull-string for a light in my laundry closet had broken off and would keep breaking whenever we tied a new string up, so she told us to skip the string altogether and simply turn the light on and off from a phone. It worked! Too well, actually. I ended up using this light bulb near where I sleep in order to shut it off for bed without having to get up, with my laundry closet lamp still busted. Oops.Since then, there have been other instances where a light like this has proven useful. It’s great for people with migraines and/or light sensitivity who need to turn or dim a light source on the fly. It’s useful for an aged family member when the process of standing and sitting can be a safety hazard. It’s even been a boon for the bathroom, for all those times you want to take a shower with strobe light cycles through neon colors. I sure don’t, but hey, if the mood strikes some day, why not. I have the tools now. Those are the benefits, and I’m happy to have this much customization in my house on the fly. but I mentioned that there is a learning curve. You’ll need to use, at minimum, the Tuya Smart app for any of the functions I’ve described, thus, you’re going to need a smartphone and have the patience + knowledge to pick up the perks of a new app. It may prompt you to create an account – I did not. At many points it may ask you for access to data or advertise additional perks with more information sharing, and I reject those too. It’s your choice what compromises or hard lines you have and what is worth your peace of mind. This is not a review for the Tuya Smart app, after all. I just don’t want this to take anybody by surprise.Of course, other adaptive technology can fill in these same gaps that are briefly talked about in the item description and in other comments on this product. Do your research, it won’t take you too long to decide what works for you. Many comments have also mentioned that the light bulbs will at some point keep blinking on and off. That’s the Pairing Mode, where your light bulb is attempting to find the device it’s meant to connect to so it can do its whole song and dance. It’s… very irritating, I will confess. I would not recommend individuals with sensitivity to flashing lights install these without first exercising caution, such as a trusted peer setting things up while you’re in an unaffected room. I have no medical issues with flashing lights, and it was STILL the most annoying part of putting in each light bulb. You may be simultaneously trying to figure out how the app works while it keeps flickering, and that might be stressful on top of that, so, just go in knowing that’s not out of the ordinary but that it will stop once it’s set up. Just know that as a light bulb, it has very few options to express it’s ready to move onto the next step, please be sympathetic. If there was a way around it, that will be the next hot product on the shelves. On that note, do read the instructions. Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi signal at 2.4GHz are your best friends for getting these connected. Some Wi-Fi connections run on 5.0GHz, so double check that you’re connecting with a 2.4GHz signal if something goes wrong. When in doubt, this same company sells peripherals like remotes and outlet plug-ins so you can pair them and not have to always tune things with your phone, but I haven’t used them and cannot tell you if that makes things easier or not. Just an option. There’s only so much I can guide you through, whether you’ve bought these light bulbs already or are considering if they’re right for you. The world is your oyster and there are other items out there in the world that do some, all, or more than these do, but as a customer, I’m happy with what I’ve got. Maybe I will take that strobe light shower after all. Who knows.

These bulbs almost automatically paired themselves with my internet and Alexa. The function just as described on website.

They are good butâ¦
These are great lamps, the are easy to set up via Tuya and Alexa recognizes them right away.BUTâ¦I installed 5 of them in my bathroom, and they work flawlessly if you don’t have to change colors. They turn on and off via Alexa almost perfectly. However the moment you ask Alexa to make then warm white or dim down then each lamp reacts on its own wayâ¦

Your fam might be slow.
These are perfect except my family… idk what’s wrong with them. They were so fascinated and mind blown when i set everything up. They keep turning lights off and then yelling at … the wall? Just know if you get these and your family isn’t fully prepared, you’re gonna struggle.

Great color wifi bulbs…as long as you don’t lose power.
We bought one set of thes bulbs months ago and were pretty impressed. You can control the color, timers, on and off times etc and they’re compatible with alexa and google assistant. They also have their own app to start you off. So we bought a 2nd set. Set them up too and tested them for a day or two and went on vacation. Secure in the notion that the house was secure and well lit when we needed it to be and if we forgot to set a timer, we could do so remotely.3 days into a weeks vacation, we got a notification that power had gone out at home. When power was restored, everything else was fine, but all the bulbs had all reverted to setup mode and were quick flashing at different times. I tried to reset them remotely, but because my phone was not on the same home network, they wouldn’t respond. Just kept flashing. We cut the vacation short and returned home. Once I was close enough to connect to the home network everything reconnecfed and stopped flashing. I took the bulbs out and found they were ALL extremely hot to the touch and several of them had a burning smell. I thought they would have had a timout if they dont connect to the network and turn off, instead, they kept flashing like a light show or disco in the neighborhood screaming “look at me”. I’m not getting anofher set!
