    Works flawlessly with Samsung Smartthings
Bought this switch to control (2 outlets) our Heattrak snowmelt mats in the winter, and (1 outlet) our 1HP irrigation pump that draws water out of our river to water the wife’s garden. Easy setup and integration with Smartthings. Also noted that it had no problem getting a good signal from my house router at the other end of the house at a distance where other devices didn’t do so well. Good product.

Works great with added HomeKit benefits
I bought one of these last year for Christmas lights, and it was nice to use HomeKit on my phone to turn the lights off remotely. After I took down the lights, I realized I could use the Meross Smart Plug for something else. I have a security camera on my back porch that liked to go offline at least once a day. I was getting tired of going out to the porch, unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. So, I plugged it into the Meross Smart Plug and was able to do it remotely from my phone. As an added benefit, the camera doesn’t go offline anymore. That’s why I bought another Meross for my Christmas lights.

My experience with Apple Home accessory version of Merlos Outdoor outlet (3 receptacle)
What I didn’t like?Typical with Home accessories, they don’t work out of the box, and Apple, I assume doesn’t have a plan for when a 3rd party product needs troubleshooting. They assume , the happy path. When I opened the box, I found instructions. It wasn’t all that clear, install the app, then go to the app, add the outlet via the Home App. Made sense. So I did.1) First Tip, work inside, get yourself a low powered LED lamp, turn it on, then carefully turn off and plug it into the outlet as a test device. Its on right?2) Second Tip (install the app) On the 3-outlet, maybe it left the factory and the firmware needs update. If it does, consider applying it early. I did not.2a) So, I add the accessory to the home app, and it doesn’t fully connect. I try again, and Apple, ARG, “the accessory is already added”. But it didn’t appear. (thus the 3 stars). Search the web, a lot of mis-information around 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz. I use EERO, best router I’ve seen, and it shows the device added to the 2.4 side – a good there.2b) So reset the outlet, that’s the path Apple sends you, but it doesn’t work (reset) toward the outcome (getting the outlet to appear as a controllable device in the Home App)3) Now I expire the Merlos app, this is not obvious. There is a firmware update. It says it will turn off and on the outlet. And the first try this happens. But the update still is queued up. So I run it again. Another power cycle and this time, the Merlos App shows no update. Aha4) Reset the outlet (via the power butto – hold down while it is powered)5) Add the updated outlet and the outlet appears as one of many devices in my Home app.So, 5 stars, the outlet works like a champ!

Easy to setup smart outdoor plug with 3 controllable outlets and IP44 waterproofing
Meross has done it again, and this time with the smart wifi outdoor plug. Like the other smart Meross products I have purchased, setup was a breeze, taking less than 10 minutes to setup. You’ll need to download the Meross app from either the Google or Apple play store and setup an account with them. Once that is done, setup is a breeze.Like all of the other Meross devices that I own, this one only connects to your 2.4Ghz wifi band. It will not connect to the 5Ghz band. But that is not a problem, since this device is not a bandwidth hog… Plus being on the 2.4Ghz band allows for the device to be reachable further away from the wireless router than when on the 5Ghz band.Integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Homekit is supported and easy to setup, allowing you to use any of the voice assistants to remotely switch on or off your devices connected to the smart plug. The device build is pretty good and sturdy. However, the smart plug protective covers are flimsy and thin and are not effective in protecting the outlets. And when you try to put the protective cover on, it will not stay in, allowing a gap and exposing the outlet to the elements/water. Another issue that I noticed, and it’s minor, is the clear warning label they placed on the front of the smart device. The clear label has black font, so it makes it hard to read the warning label on a black device. You literally have to look very closely and at an angle in order for you to read it. They should have used a white font or some.other contrasting color so that the label can be read.Other than those two issues, the smart outdoor plug works great and as intended. It can be remotely controlled via voice or through the Meross app. Plus setup was quick and easy. I am currently using it to control my string LED lights and and having them turn on in the evenings and turning them off in the daytime. So if you are looking for a smart outdoor plug, I highly recommend this as an option for you.

Programmable Individual plug control from your iPhone
This smart plug-in was very easy to install. I had to download one app and after setting up the connection I was able to add it to the home button on my iPhone. I like that I can control each individual plug-in. I can leave them off all of the time or on all the time, plus I have one of the plug-ins programmed to turn on and off on sunrise and Sunset. I’ve had no issues with Weather affecting this item, although mine is located on a covered porch.

    NOT Apple Home compatible
I bought this smart plug specifically because the description said it was compatible with Apple Home – it states that it is clearly on the box. After some back and forth with customer service they told me that this device is NOT compatible with Apple Home. Also after only a week of use the device is totally dead. Buyer beware!!!

    Easy to Use!
This item is very easy to set up. I use it for outdoor lights that I like to turn off before bed because the lights are near a window. It works perfectly.

We are all in on Apple Homekit in this house and I wanted to add an exterior smart plug for some nice lighting over a canopy on our back deck. Having additional smart plugs would also be helpful come Christmas time when we put up additional lights. This product definitely fits the build.Pros:- Build quality seems fine. I’m not sure how confident I’d be with this being buried under the snow for 6 months, but I mounted it on the side of the house and I’m sure it will do fine in these conditions.- The Homekit integration is great. You long press on the device and then you get 3 separate toggles for the 3 plugs. Very slick. When you build automations, you get to choose which of the 3 plugs are included. Should give me all the flexibility I need.- The price is very competitive with this meross gear. I’ve replaced all my light switches with their products and have been very happy with the price, quality, and functionality.Cons:- The initial setup may be hampered by your Wi-Fi configuration. In my case, I had to disable 5GHz and only leave 2.4GHz enabled during the setup process otherwise it would not connect. After getting it connected and confirmed working in Homekit, I was able to re-enable my 5GHz network and it has worked perfectly ever since.Given it’s price and the functionality it provides, I recommend this.** Just be aware of the install process and plan accordingly. If you don’t have full control over your Wi-Fi configuration, you may not be happy with this product.
