When to use a Cut-End to Cut-End Connector
Frequently Asked Questions:
Will Litcessory products cause my lightstrip to be dimmer?
No, Litcessory products do not affect the brightness of the lights, as long as your total lightstrip run length (lightstrips plus any Litcessory product length) stays within 10 meters/33 feet, your lights will be just as bright!
What is reverse polarity, and how do I fix it?
Reverse polarity happens when you plug in the wrong side of a 6-pin connector. The flow of electricity gets reversed, and the lightstrip won’t turn on. This is a common occurrence when setting up your project and it is easily fixed.
I used a cut-end connector and now my lightstrip colors don’t match. How do I fix this?
If your lights are not the right colors after connecting a cut-end connector, this means that the cut-end connector is not making a solid connection with the connection points on the lightstrips. Try the following:
Unplug the power sourceEnsure the backside of the connection points (the side opposite of the LED lights) are making contact with the cut-end connector’s metal prongs, and that it is fully inserted.Close the lid of the cut-end connector and clamp down with a pair of pliers. Use plenty of pressure. You should hear a slight “snap”.To ensure your cut-end connector stays tight, you can wrap the cut-end connector tightly with electrical tape.
If you are still having issues after trying the above steps, please contact our awesome support team. We are always happy to help!
Can you insert 6-pin connectors into the cut-end connector?
No, you cannot insert a 6-pin connector into the cut-end connector. If you need to connect a lightstrip with a cut-end to a 6-pin connector, you will need our Cut-End to 6-Pin cable. Remember: Cut lightstrips connect to only cut-end connectors and 6-pin ends can only connect to 6-pin connectors. Cut lightstrips cannot connect to a 6-pin connector.
Can I plug an extension cable into a Cut-End to Cut-End Connector?
No, to connect an extension cable to a cut lightstrip, you will need to use our 6-Pin to Cut-End Connector. Remember our rule of thumb: Cut lightstrips connect only to cut-end connectors. 6-pin connectors only connect to other 6-pin connectors. Cut-end connectors cannot connect to 6-pin connectors.
How to install the Cut-End Connector Step 1
Unplug the Lightstrip.Turn the lightstrip on its side and create a puncture mark, then cut a small slit into the plastic.Tear the plastic sheathing across the lightstrip.Cut away from the lightstrip and remove the extra plastic.Make sure the plastic is removed from both sides of the lightstrip
How to install the Cut-End Connector Step 2
Cut down the center of the solder points with a pair of sharp scissors.
How to install the Cut-End Connector Step 3
Insert the cut lightstrip into the cut-end connector.Ensure that the lightstrip is fully inserted and that the solder points are beneath the metal prongs.
How to install the Cut-End Connector Step 4

Another Win from Litcessory
These work just like the cut end to pin product. I had not dabbled with Hue strip lights in 6 years. The Litcessory line of products fill a avoid for tricky light configurations. Someone said they don’t fit tight. You have to carefully trim the exterior plastic and slide/push tight the tape into the fitting under the contacts. Then snap it closed and it is not coming out.

Very Handy! How you cut matters!
Sometimes after you cut, depending on the uniqueness of that particular solder joint, there can be too much solder bead left over on the end going into this connector, which causes stress on the hinge when you close it. Then the hinge breaks. Handy tip, instead of cutting down the middle of the hue strip solder joint, cut so that the end you end up with has a little less solder bead left and cut straight! This way, the solder beads going into this connector wont be so large as to put stress on the hinge and you’ll still have a good connection. You have to be careful though, cut the Hue solder joint off-center too much and you screwed the Hue strip you’re working with. These are handy and work well otherwise. Once you have some experience with these and cutting, then you’re good. Good luck! These do work just have to be careful and understand the weaknesses.

So Far So Good, No Problems – Followed 3 Party Video vs Mfg Video
I had several decent size length’s of LED strips left over from a kitchen project, so I wanted to string them together and use them for my basement pool table light.I followed a 3rd party video on you-tube instead of the mfg video, worked like a charm. The main difference was to trim just before the solder joints and not cut the solder joints in half. It took a little more force to close the clip, but seems to hold up just fine.I’ll order some of the other connectors (like “Y” and extension) for the rest of my strips.

Did the trick
These were a bit tricky at first but finally started to get the hang of them, ended up cutting a few pieces wrong and wasting some of the light strip. However, was able to fabricate an exact, even fit behind my TV and it looks so much better than just pinching the strips.

I was very wary of these actually working after reading the previous review. However, they worked perfectly for me. Just what I needed.

Do NOT spend money on this cheaply made product!
The metal connectors on this product fall out easily and it is very difficult to get the clip to lock down on the Hue LED Light Strip. The metal connectors also shift side to side causing the strip to arc when your trying to insert the cut end of the light strip under them. Finally, the instructions say you’re supposed to insert the light strip under the connectors straight through the side slots but when you cut the light, it slightly flattens the strip and makes it impossible to insert it through the side slots.

Worked perfectly but it is a delicate process. Just be patient.

I now hate all led strip lights after working with these connectors. I have used other connectors with 4 pins and it wasnât that bad. The new 6 pin version 4 is a nightmare. The smaller points with more pins make it harder to line up the solder joints. After my 50th attempt it finally worked. Took me the better part of two days figuring out these crappy things just to extend two light runs. I had more to do but just said screw it, itâs not worth the time waste of getting these things to line up perfectly. Not to mention the horrible documentation, with older versions ( even their YouTube video says âold versionâ but then no link to the new one). Itâs like they are just too lazy to update things. Even their QR code is just lazy as itâs just a link to their site and not specific instructions. The instructions on their website is out of date saying not to cut on the cut lines but in the center of the solder joint. Well thatâs not true, because I wasted a good 120 dollars of light strips because you have to cut exactly on the cut line and leave enough silicon sleeve to tuck under the plastic part to keep it secureâ¦.something they donât tell you. Horrible product, they should not be selling this.2 stars only because it does work, just there is no current documentation and they seem too lazy to update anything.

Klare Kaufempfehlung.

This was a total waste of time, money and nerves. I have V3 base kit 2M and wanted to extend it with 2 more of the same. For the purpose I got these cut end to cut end connectors after contacting the Litcessory support.Unfortunately, when I cut and connected the strips I didn’t get all the colours. Sometimes I didn’t got the 2nd and 3rd part to light up at all. I had to press at specific points in the cut connectors and in a specific way (bend the strip slightly) in order to get all the colours. I’ve wasted many hours trying to figure out how to fix this.I contacted Litcessory, who after many emails exchanged sent me a replacement batch of connectors.Same story with the new batch.I’m so sorry I’ve wasted my perfectly fine 2M strips and now just bought new ones from Amazon (v4). Expensive project, but the point is that this product worked very poorly in my case. Maybe someone else will have more luck with it. Just be prepared to waste some money…
