    Leviton for the Win!
    I added this Leviton Replacement End to my retractable Power Extrension Cord in place of the original 3-headed receptacle that could no longer provide consistent, full electrical power to two of the outlets. That old head also had a barely-visible orange Neon internal pilot light, while this new Leviton unit has a bright green LED inside, visible day or night to confirm that juice is present (and the Breaker hadn’t been accidentally tripped). I was impressed by the build quality and ease of assembly, and how well it holds onto the power cord. Took me less than 10 minutes to replace the old head; there are 2rd-party plug-in 3-head extensions if you need.

    Amazon review 10/5/2020 for the Leviton 515CV-LIT Grounding Lighted Cord End Replacement, 1 pack, Green. This plug works as designed. The device is rated for indoor use. Some care is needed when installing the wires so as not to disturb the LED mounting. Strain relief is acceptable. The LED brightness is acceptable for indoor usage, but is dim if one plans on using outside in sunlight. Housing material is a hard plastic which appears to be somewhat impact resistant. Note that the LED does not provide diagnostic capability. For example, the light will still come on if hot and neutral are reversed or if ground is not present.

    Great replacement end
    This replacement end was a bit tricky to get the screw out of it to open it. There was one that just spun around and wasn’t attached to anything and it was stuck shut. But with a butter knife, it popped open and went on fine. The lighted end is hand at night as this is used as an outside cord.

    Good end receptacle
    I bought this because of its longer base from the screw terminals to the cable clamp which makes it easier to strip the ends, adjust positions and then have a decent length to cable clamp. Unscrew the terminal screws, pull back the clamp base and insert the stripped wire ends (I always tin mine a little to keep the strands together) and tighten with a correctly sized Phillips screwdriver point. The screws in ALL of these plugs are not very hard and strip easily so hold it firmly and do not use an electric screwdriver. BTW, the Green light is very bright in mine.

    Repaired our heavy duty cord!
    Repaired our heady duty 12ga cord with this. Wouldn’t ask for easier install, there are instructions but pretty easy to reference colors as well.Lighted end is tough and rugged.Would buy another if needed!
