Small Profile – Easy Setup with my Echo. Responsive
I’ve been a smart plug user since the first WeMo devices that were bigger than a standard outlet. Good to see these smaller ones. I have an Amazon Basics one (bottom outlet of comparison photo) and found it to be on the larger side, especially when I have them plugged into outlet strips. For the Amazon one and my old WeMo ones I had small extension cords coming from my outlet strips. Didn’t need it with this one. Using these for my bedroom lamps and some window fans to run on schedules in Alexa.I did the auto pair with Alexa during checkout and my Echo immediately detected it when I plugged it in. I thought that was only available on Amazon Basics so nice to see it available here. It does require a matter controller though, there’s no manufacturer app associated with this product so you need to have a Matter controller. Which is fine since I think most Echos have been for quite some time but that’s different than TP Link and other brands. Although seems to be very snappy to respond to my voice compared to my older WeMo products. So swapping all those out soonAs a renter I can’t do the light switches, so having to rely on lamp mostly. Better than smart bulbs unless you want color changing lamps.

Nice smart plug
Setup was easy, using it to control Christmas tree lights. Easily paired and setup light schedule on HomeKit. Must better than those rotating mechanical timers.

Terrific option for home automation if you have a Matter hub
Those that have tinkered with home automation over the years know that Matter has been a game changer – things that used to be a spiderweb of compatibility issues, “will it work together / won’t work together”, “what dongle do I need for this one again” and the like now just work. No more endless Z-Wave vs Zigbee debates and now you don’t even need to download multiple apps just to get one thing working! And now Legrand has joined the Matter standard (for those that aren’t aware, Legrand has been a go to name in electrical for many years – you probably have a lot of their products embedded in your walls without even knowing it) so can get an automated plug from the same company that could very well have made the wall plug you’re attaching it to. This Radiant plug shows that experience too – it’s much more compact than most of my existing “smart home” stuff and connected right away to my Samsung SmartThings hub (which supports Matter) and I was off and going. No complicated wiring or additional accounts to sign up for, it just works. I was able to easily add it to some existing routines to get an additional lamp automated.I love how compact this plug is – it would be easy to fit two on a standard single gang dual outlet – and it’s much quieter switching than my older Z-Wave and pure WiFi solutions. Whenever I need to add to my automations in the future, I now know where to look!So IF you have a Matter compatible hub (and you may, even if you don’t know), this plug is an easy choice. Give it a try today!

As Described
This plug was fairly easy to connect to SmartThings. I’m able to turn it on and off through the app. It doesn’t have any other features. No timer. No energy monitoring. Nothing. I probably should have paid more attention to the description before ordering. Regardless, you can get much more advanced plugs for the same price or cheaper.

Seamless setup and solid quality
The new Matter standard is a great solution for smart home automation; having Pass & Seymor / Legrand join this standard finally provides an option from a respectable electrical supply company. There is no longer any need to install third party application or sign up for an account with manufacturer – the integration is directly with your home automation service (such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit). If you have any of these, connecting this switch is as easy as scanning the QR code (there is one on the device, and another one is on the sticker on the back of the manual). The entire setup gets picked up from there to the completion, exactly as Matter standard aims to accomplish. If you have an older Apple HomeKit setup, you may be prompted to upgrade it, but that’s about it.If you have multiple home automation systems and would like to connect this switch to all of them, make sure to obtain a new setup code from your first system – the original one only works for the initial setup, and any subsequent additions need to be authorized by the first automation provider (this is all described in the manual, should you decide to read it). In my case, I initially set up the switch on Amazon Alexa, after which I connected Apple HomeKit and Google Home, both of those secondary connections completed in under a minute.I’m very happy with the quality of this device, the ease of setup, and how quickly it connects to home automation network from power on. Will definitely be adding more Matter devices to my home over time, now that I don’t have to worry about proprietary implementations and can pick and choose the manufacturers of my electrical equipment.

Super handy
This is easy to setup and use and is so handy. You can turn on your lights before you get home or after you’re in bed. You can set timers. Its the best thing since the Clapper.

Could not get this to work?
I have several kinds/brands of smart devices around my house and art studio, but for whatever reason I could not get this to work? I have SmartLife and Roku plugs, but even the QR code on the plug and instructions did not work. Would say, “no date found” when I would try to use the QR? No success.
