Kasa is a quality smart home company
I have several Kasa products in our house and we are very happy with them. They are semi bulky but not so bad that you can’t use the other plug in the outlet. There’s a manual button to turn the outlet on if you don’t choose to use the app or just need to power on whatever is plugged in to it.The app is very user friendly. The plugs pair quick and easy to the app and the setup is very simple. There are multiple options for programming like timers and automation. In my experience they have been extremely reliable. They have options to update firmware so you get an up to date product whenever there are new versions available. The only downside about that, is that it isn’t automatic and you only know there’s a new version if you open the app. Since we use them for their automation it is rare that we open the app. But, none the less, it doesn’t affect their performance. They are a great addition to your smart home, much better than other brands on the market. They integrate very nicely to our smart home. Would recommend for anyone looking for smart plugs.

Easy setup, but does require app
In general,I prefer devices that don’t require an app. Just trying to avoid iPhone clutter. I bought this without checking first so that’s on me. Nevertheless, setup was very easy and had some nice shortcuts that made things easier. You need to connect to the device’s Wifi to connect it to the Kasa app, but then it automatically restores the original wifi connection. Nice! After that connection to Alexa was trivial and it works reliably.

Kasa Smart Plug – A Simple Way to Make Your Home Smarter!
I picked up a couple of these Kasa Smart Plugs for around the house, and they’ve made life a lot easier. Setting them up was a breeze—just plug ’em in, connect to the app, and you’re good to go. I’ve got mine hooked up to lamps and a couple of other gadgets, and now I can turn everything on or off with my voice using Alexa. No more stumbling around in the dark when I’m busy with something else. They work just as they should, and the Wi-Fi connection is solid. If you’re looking for an easy way to bring a little smart tech into your home, these plugs are a great start.

Adventures in Installation is NOT a positive.
Don’t believe the videos showing how easy these Matter plugs are to install! The Kasa software failed to recognize all 12 plugs on both a Samsung 23 Ultra AND an old LG Stylo 6 (to ensure connection on my 2.4 Ghz network). I salvaged the installation by connecting the plugs using my S23 Ultra and the Alexa app with Echo Show 8 (Matter hub). THEN and only then could the Kasa software see the plugs and automatically update the firmware. All the Kasa devices seem to be working just fine now and the Kasa software does has some nice features, once you get past the installation phase. They are STILL easier to install than the old non-Matter WEMO plugs…but having to use a third-party app to register/initialize the plugs is not confidence inspiring.BTW, kudos to Echo Show 8. I was able to integrate my iDevices, Ring products, and these Kasa plugs relatively seamlessly. In fact, the Echo shows my Ring doorbell camera two to three times faster than my Ring app does.

Simple to setup, app has good features
Pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to setup and configure with the app. You allow it to see your location, and it can automatically adjust for local sunrise and sunset times if you want to use those (you can also set specific times, or use the built-in timer). Highly recommend (on day one — will see how well they last over time); the value for the price seems good.

Setup worked on the first attempt! Easy Alexa add too
Setup was (compared to other smart plugs I’ve used) pretty straight forward. There were several steps, but I only had to attempt the setup once per device (I ordered 2) and it worked the first time, so that was a win! Even though the units were brand new, I did have to do a firmware update on each of them, which added a minute or so per device to the setup time.Once I had created an account with the required app, signed in via the app I had to download (kasa app) and entered my wifi password into this app (choose your security risk adventure yourself) everything worked well.I used this to put a pair of lights on one plug and on the other I connected it to a woodburning stove fan.Added both in a room, and customized the name for each item.Adding them to Alexa was easy, after one item was added to alexa, (enabled in the Kasa app) after I initially added the second device to the kasa app, that named device was automatically added to Alexa.transcript of my video review follows(note I was a good distance away from Alexa device so when I have alexa turn things on and off, I had to turn my head to speak more clearly, which has nothing to do with these plugs and their app)This is a 2 pack Smart Plugs they work with the Kasa app and they tell you to download that. In here they’ve got an on off button. I actually write that on the plug because months, years later if I move around or even if I move to a different house or something like that, it helps me to remember which plug goes with which app.And so on. But about to get these set up. I’m actually replacing some others that from a different source that didn’t make it possible to upload the Wi Fi when changed Wi Fi devices. Hopefully these will have some better options for updates. Got it all set up. App wasn’t too difficult to connect to.And had to do an update, firmware update. And then after that I was, I was able to connect it to the Alexa app. Alexa, turn off the front lights. Okay. Alexa, turn off the front lights. Okay. Alexa, turn on the front lights. Okay. I then set up the second one. It was easier than the first because the app already had my Wi Fi password. And that’s a warning. You will need to input your Wi Fi password eventually. Plus allow for a location setting. And maybe some scheduling type stuff, so consider that whether or not you want to do that. After all that, I was able to connect this to Alexa as well. The second one went faster than the first.Alexa, turn on the stove fan.Alexa, turn on the stove fan. And just getting ready to start a fire, so I got stuff in the wood burning stove, but I wanted to get the fan on the thing. Pretty cool that it works.

    Super simple and intuitive
Easy to set up, automatically updated the firmware. Scheduling was a breeze. These are way easier than Wemo and less than 1/2 the price. Very impressive.

’m extremely pleased with this smart plug! Setting it up was a breeze—just plug it in, connect it to the app, and it’s ready to go. The app interface is intuitive, and the plug works seamlessly with my voice assistant, making it so convenient to control my devices hands-free.It’s perfect for automating my daily routines—like turning on the coffee maker in the morning or switching off lights at night. The scheduling feature is a game-changer for energy efficiency, and the plug itself feels sturdy and well-made.Highly recommend this smart plug to anyone looking to make their home smarter and more efficient!

Solicité 2 plugs y 1 no funcionaba( no conectaba a la red) . Solicité el reemplazo del mismo, fue muy rápido y sin problemas. Así mismo, los plugs funcionan excelente y sin configuraciones complicadas.

This works exactly as expected. The setup to get it connected to wifi took under a minute. I am using it specifically for the Christmas tree lighting and setting up a schedule was quick and easy. You set a time to turn on and a time to turn off. As a plus you can connect it to google home or other smart assistants to be able to use it with voice activation. No complaints!
