    Good switch for the price
    Was concerned about the fact it’s not a true ticket switch, but after using it a couple weeks, we like it even better. Switch shows a faint “power” lighted symbol when off with handy dimmer-level LEDs when on. Connected easily to Alexa, easy to control power or brightness with voice or scheduled routines.

    Defective switches and terrible customer
    Kasa WIFI Dimable Smart Switch – These switches do not work. I bought eight of them. I tried three different ones from what appeared to be different lot numbers. None of them worked. I called tech-support. The connection was terrible. The tech-support person was very difficult to understand and was not able to provide help. Someone else called me back who was equally difficult to understand and tried to get me to return the switches for replacement rather than refund. He also told me if I ordered more switches and they didn’t work, then to send them back.For a little bit of background, I have ordered a several other types of switches from this company and installed them and they worked well.

    Very Nice Smart Dimmer Switch For Cost
    This Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch is a really good quality one especially for the value price. It is very comparable to many of the “named brand” ones you might purchase at a home supply retailer. It comes with everything needed for installation and has complete installation instructions. Installation is not hard but a little electrical knowledge is helpful. Once installed it works well with the Alexa app and the Kasa app. Works great cutting on/off with app or using voice prompts through Alexa. Only negative as others have mentioned the switch plate that comes with it does not fit very well.

    Warning
    Warning – the Kasa switches no longer function with Alexa like they used to. After an upgrade by Alexa they no longer can trigger a routine on Alexa which is problematic. For starters you can’t turn them off with a timer from Alexa. I have called both Kasa and Alexa support and Kasa is aware of it and simply says call Alexa and when I do Alexa seems clueless. This has been the situation for 3 weeks. This is really stinks…

    Size of device
    The Amazon page said this is a frequently returned item and to read all the information. There were a few reviews, but none mentioned any issues. It would have been nice if there were a dimensional drawing, so I could make sure it would fit in my box (it did, but had to heavily push and massage the existing wiring). This unit is installed in a duplex switchbox and I had to really cram in the wiring to get it to fit. Other than the tight fit, the installation went pretty much as expected. I even went to the Kasa website to see if there was more information, but their website is woefully lacking in detailed information.I like Kasa and use their switched outlets for all my holiday lighting as well as other things that are convenient to reset remotely with a power cycle, so felt I could deal with the unknowns of installation, but if you are not experienced with changing out or installing switches, don’t get this unit.

    Works good on my LED recessed lights
    I bought this to replace a Leviton smart switch because my LED lights were flickering. This switch works perfectly without any flickering and is much cheaper. The app works well also.
