    Easy to connect to WiFi network
    This is a smart plug that can connect to either Google or Alexa smart home networks. It does not work on 5 GHz bands, only on 2.4 GHz, but that is common for most other smart devices. It is a little bulky with the circular form factor, but that isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

    Good basic, inexpensive smart switch
    I bought four of these to plug in lamps in various rooms of my home. The first thing they tell you to do is to download the Smart Life app, which is pretty straightforward. Unfortunately Smart Life did not recognize the devices in its “add device” mode. I had to go in and add the devices manually, which is a bit more involved of a process but still not particularly difficult.Once the devices have been added, triggering the switch is simply a matter of calling up the Smart Life app and issuing the appropriate command. You can also link Smart Life to Google home and define verbal commands that you can issue through your Google Assistant, eg:”Hey Google turn on bedroom lights”It all works quite smoothly and only issue that I really encountered is Google Home’s sparse instruction set for creating automations. It looks like there are a bunch of expanded constructions in beta right now which should make the tools a lot more useful when they are finally released, but there’s no indication of when that’s going to be. But that’s Google problem that has nothing to do with the device. The device works as it’s intended.Bottom line, this is not a complicated device. It is a basic on-off switch with no bells and whistles. If that will meet your needs, this device will probably serve you quite well. If you need features such as a dimmer, a toggle, or something using other additional parameters, this is not the device for you.

    This is easy to set up and pairs with Amazon Alexa. I have mine set up to control my lights, and haven’t had any connectivity issues. Fantastic price for getting your home set up as smart home.

    Easy to Install, but Expensive for Basic Features
    Super easy to install. I already had the SmartLife App (Tuya) and the plug was recognized immediately. Once I refreshed the Tuya service, the plug works in Home Assistant. You can only turn the plug (which is called a socket) on and off, there is no power information.Overall, a decent plug, but pretty expensive, considering you can get two zigbee plugs which allow you to see power useage (which can be useful for automations) and can turn off the button light, for the price of this single plug.Works, but too pricey for what you get.

    Remote Switching
    The Ironsmith Lighting Wi-Fi Smart Plug gives you several options to control a lamp or other appliance. There is a button on the side that you can simply push once to turn a device on and push again to turn it off. You can also download the “Smart Life” app to your phone to get three more options. The app’s first option is a big button on the screen. Again, you hit it once for “on” and again for “off.” The second option is a countdown timer where you set the minutes and hours delay. The third option is a regular timer you can use to set a specific time or a recurring time. The setup is explained fairly well in the instruction sheet. Once the app is downloaded to your phone, you create a password-protected account. You then connect to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The app asks for certain permissions on your phone. You then put the Smart Plug into pairing mode. There are actually two modes for pairing. There is “easy” mode and “app” mode. You are supposed to use “app” mode if “easy” mode fails. However, after my first failure, I just reset everything and ran “easy” mode again, and it synced up. I was then able to turn a night light on and off using the app. Smart Plug opens up a lot of possibilities to control devices remotely. The plug is rated up to a 10-amp load, making it possible to switch quite a few watts. It seems to work well and I am happy with what it can do for such a reasonable price.

    Works great
    I got this for my son’s room light because he can’t reach the switch so now all you have to do is tell Alexa to turn on and off the light. Very easy to set up, you do have to download the app for the plug but then it’s super easy to link to the Alexa app then you can delete the other app and it still works great.
