Despite it’s low price, the IMOU Cruiser 4MP is an excellent outdoor PTZ security camera. The free, companion apps are attractive and easy to use, but I believe the features are disorganized, and to find them all. I had to do a lot of fishing around the user interface. The feature set of this camera is very rich, and the features work as advertised. The camera will automatically follow motion and then return to its home position. The camera will reliably detect human beings. Two-way audio is acceptable, if a little tinny. Best of all, the UHD image is superlative.

Very good, but not perfect
I’ve had this camera for several weeks now on my front porch. I like it enough that I just ordered a second one for the back of the house. The picture is stellar! It does a good job of following the motion. There are a couple of gotchas you should be aware of. First and foremost is that you get charged to use all features of the app. That’s not so bad, but if you don’t pay, you can’t even download your own videos, even if you’ve put your own memory chip in the camera. I can’t download MY video from MY memory card? Really??? The app is also not the most intuitive to use, but I’m learning. The camera has a setting to identify “human movement.” I can’t tell how how many moths, shadows, and cars have passed as humans. 😉 Night vision is a little flaky. The camera sometimes switches between color and night vision and back again on a single recording. It may just be how the lighting is on my porch. But either way, the clarity of image and the sound recording is outstanding. The camera has NEVER lost wifi connectivity. So not perfect, but I’m pleased enough to be another.

Iâve purchased several other cameras with different brands before but finds Imou brands as the best. Very easy to install and connect and with a 360 degrees camera rotation you can view the entire area with only one camera. Great for the front and back of the house with clear view and audio. Will recommend again to family and friends.

Horrible Product Save Your Money
After reading the reviews, I figured I would give this a shot. Set up was pretty easy, getting it up and running was no problem. The picture quality was pretty decent, as was range. We had to pay to store the videos more than a day. It was around $70 for the year or $6.99 a month. Thankfully I decided to go by the month. The motion detection on this camera was terrible. After the first day, it started alerting me every 10-15 minutes saying “Package detected”. Only the camera was aimed at my side yard, and there was absolutely nothing on camera that changed. I played with the settings and blocked off the top of the AC unit below, thinking perhaps the square shape of it was triggering the “Package Detection”. It did not help. I played around some more, and blocked off the meter top, again, thinking the shape was causing it to think it was a package. Then it started alerting me to a “Vehicle Detected”!! This darn thing was going off every 10 mins and driving me nuts. I set the motion sensitivity down to “2”. That helped, only when my spouse took the dogs out….nothing. No alert whatsoever. Which pretty much nullifies the whole point of having a camera with motion detection if it isn’t going to detect a grown person walking thru the full range of the camera. Set it back up to “3” and it went back to false alerts. Finally decided this wasn’t worth it and I am returning it. I’d rather spend the additional $100 and get another Ring camera. Save your money, don’t bother with this junk.

Game changer for our lambing barn!
I have a few of these in our lambing barn that doesnt have wifi. The extendors are strong enough to connect to our house wifi. They have lasted 3 years so far. In humid, wet, and -50 to 110 degree. It has been a game changer! We do hourly checks, now we can quickly wake up and check the cameras instead of having to get dressed and run out to the barn in -30 snowy weather. We can monitor a birth without stressing the ewe out. Observe natural behaviors between ewe and lamb and take note when behaviors are out of norm to monitor more frequently.It is hard for a livestock farmer to go away, let alone on vacation. It has been a peace of mind to have these cameras. We can even connect while on a cruise ship. These cameras have changed our lives for the best!

Camera mobile Hotspot problem
Great camera but in the last 3 weeks I’ve had to replace my cameras. The mobile Hotspot won’t connect. I’ve reset the camera. Reset it to factory settings. It won’t connect. I’ve searched the internet trying to fix the problem. No luck so I have to replace the camera. I’ve had these cameras for years and never had a problem. If this keeps happening I’ll to replace all my cameras.

Good quality for low price. I bought 3 different models from the same company. One had some trouble reconnecting to the internet so they sent me another fast. I had Nest before however the resolution of these is far better, the field of view is smaller though. Night vision is much better than Nest. Some models will track objects or people which makes up for the field of vision, it actually works quite well. I would like a web application instead of just using a smart-phone to use. The history is difficult to use unless you download the video file to a computer and use a separate editor to manipulate it. Can be wired or wifi, wired is more consistent. I use both Cat5 inside and wifi outside. The cable is rock solid all the time, the wifi sometimes drops off and takes longer to load.

I bought and installed in 2022, has been working great, does not have a subscription fee with the sd card and why wouldn’t someone put an sd card in it? Can download videos from the sd card, really it has been very reliable as long as the wifi is a good signal. Happier with it than with all my blink cameras that are slowly crapping out
