Rinky dink programming. No good. Shuts off in a few minutes and changes color programming even if you just select a solid color and specify timing. Terrible. I went with Govee which is much better quality much like phillp hues.

Smart ambient lighting
Construction: The lights are made of aluminum and plastic. The black tube is most likely extruded aluminum, and it has a length of Addressable RGB strip attached to it. There are plastic caps on both ends, with the lower one having a rubber grommet for the cable to come out of. I should note that there is no strain relief and the cable is held in place by the solder joint, it is possible to pull out the pads if you were to tug on the cable really hard. A single screw holds the lower cap in place, and that same cap has the threads for ¼â screws.Assembly/mounting: The lights have two small tripods with ¼â threads for standing up. Alternatively, 4 adhesive pads are included if they are to be hung up. The plastic has a film over the transparent bit to protect the screen and the wires come out the back. Hanging the lights is a bit trickier than I thought since the cable comes out the opposite side of the light, the cable will prevent the lights from mounting flush to the surface unless they are sideways.Use: There are 3 ways to control the lights, the app, the InfraRed (IR) controller, or the in-line button. The button is by far the least practical input method, but it can be useful if you lose the controller and donât want to use the app (I actually really like having this option and occasionally use it). The controller is a safe bet for controlling the lights especially if you donât want to install sketchy apps that ask for questionable permissions (like location and file access). The app itself is quite featured and allows for light sequences to be chained together. The light controller has a built-in microphone for light-based animation changes, this is the main reason I use these lights. The lights do have individually addressable animations and as such they have interesting animations in which the speed, color, and brightness can be adjusted. They add a nice ambiance to any setup, especially behind monitors but I use them behind my speakers and have them use the microphone.Conclusion: The lights are great for setups and the microphone feature in combination with the animations is what I like most about them. They are not the easiest to stick onto surfaces thanks to the placement of the wire, but there are better designs out there for mounting to backs.

Doesnât work
I bought these as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately I bought them in August, so the return window is closed. Theyâre no good. First they wouldnât stand correctly (the screw connecting them was cross thread) and now the remote doesnât work. We tried the app, but itâs pretty useless as it isnât even recognizing the device. Total waste of money.
