The photo shows a block of Ethernet surge protectors connected to ground using this cord. I had a failure of cable modem, router and switch when a lightning storm went through. So, now I am providing surge protection to my Ethernet connections, computer, cable modem, router and switch. By plugging it into any three prong grounded outlet I can protect my Ethernet from power surges.
