Very Stable
I have several of these for our Christmas lights, of which we have a lot. We live at 7800 feet in Wyoming, so winters are high wind, snow and below zero temps. I do not want to be outside messing with outlets, so wanted a product that was very stable and reliable. I have tried a couple other brands, until I found these. Very easy to set up in Apple Home, a good price, and it doesnât interfere with any of our other smart products, very compatible. Itâs pretty impressive when 35,000+ lights come on at the same time, no matter the weather. And I never have to go out and mess with them!

It works perfectly
I have a large number of Wemo smart switches that have become harder to keep connected and are problematic to add to the system. I have begun replacing them with the Meross switches and they work perfectly, and are a better value than the Wemos. These connect to Apple Home immediately and without issues. They stay connected and seem more robust than the Wemo. I have a few Wemo switches left, but as they fail, I will replace them with the Meross switches.

Great HomeKit Outdoor Smart Plug
I bought this to schedule lights we have on our deck to go on and off with home automations in HomeKit. The setup was very simple and what you would expect from any HomeKit enabled product. I simply plugged it in, opened the Home app, scanned the HomeKit sticker on the side of the plug, waited a few seconds, and then assigned the room and names for the outlets. Iâd say it only took two minutes to set it all up. For those reviews saying it does not work with HomeKit, they clearly donât know how to do it.After setup, I was able to add to my automations and control the lights on and off my network, as I have multiple Apple TVâs and HomePods that act as hubs.Iâve only had it running a couple of days, but will update on how well it holds up to damp conditions and rain. At this point thatâs the only thing Iâm worried about based on other reviews, but happy so far.

Working as expected after recent Homekit + firmware updates (Updated Review)
Updated Review 8/30/23Ever since the recent Apple Homekit and Meross firmware updates, my plugs have been working great and staying connected to both the Meross + Homekit apps. Seems it was more of a software than hardware problem. Thanks Meross for staying on top of this!—————————–Original 1-Star Review 6/26/23Piece of crap…works for about a few days, then loses connectionBought three of these. When they work, they’re great. Problem is, you can’t depend on them to work for long. Totally unreliable, don’t waste your money.

There are some noteable design limitations to consider before purchase
Let me start with build quality. It’s questionable. I ordered two. One came with an open crack between the two halves of the plastic body because the unit had not been assembled correctly. Fortunately, I was able to take it apart and re-assemble it. It is worth noting that there are no rubber gaskets or other seals to keep water out of the main housing. The two rubber outlet covers which were black in the product photos are actually yellow. They are very supple and seem to provide a good seal when inserted into the receptacles. (The only seal in the entire product.) However, when they are not inserted into the receptacles, they hang between the two receptacles from a very, very thin strip of rubber. It is not hard to imagine them getting accidentally torn off, but that’s not even the biggest problem with them. It is almost impossible to plug in two cords at the same time because the product’s two receptacles are placed fairly close together and those hanging covers get in the way. You have to really pull the covers out of the way with some force to insert a second plug. It seems inevitable that the rubber covers will get torn off. If the designers had hung the covers in any other direction, this problem would have been averted. Similar products all get this right. Only meross gets it wrong. (It’s worth noting that meross offers another version of this productâsame model number but different housingâthat does solve this problem…while creating another.)The biggest design hassle for me is the plug end of this productâthe one that gets inserted into your AC receptacle. This is a product designed to be used outdoors. The designer should absolutely assume it is going to be plugged in inside a weather housing, yet meross drops the ball here too. The plug points down at a 90-degree angle. This means if you plug it into the top outlet, you can’t use the bottom outlet. If you plug it into the bottom outlet, you can’t close the door of the weather housing. If you want to use two of these units together, forget it. You can’t. Attaching the cord to the plug at a 45-degree angle would have completely solved this problem. As is, there is no solution. So is there anything good about this product? Absolutely. It was easy to connect to HomeKit. Once you switch your iPhone over to the product’s ad hoc wifi signal while you set it up, everything works exactly like it should. And the product allows you to control each outlet independently. In fact, functionally, this product checks all the boxes. Unfortunately, its physical design is a deal killer.

Connected to my wifi network on the first try and has been working perfectly with HomeKit. Love the dual plugs which can be operated independently of one another. Great product!

Build quality is a big thing for me. And this didn’t impress. Not bad, but I woulda liked better.Pros1#. It’s Home Kit compatible. On that note, it allows you to add it to your home app even if you don’t have an apple home hub. Which is funny. It adds it to apple home app during setup, so I guess that’s its work around.2#. Works.Cons.1#. Not impressive build. $20 Kasa plug feels a lot more solid.2#. Only one button on the plug itself. I guess it turns on and off both plugs at once.3#. Kinda clunky app. Not really bad, but the Kasa one is a lot nicer. Also Kasa setup is easier. Its an ok smart plug, but I returned it and got a Kasa one.

We replaced our iDevices outdoor plug which finally stopped working after a few years of annoying behaviour. This took about 2 minutes to setup. Plugged it in and within seconds of connecting to it’s built in wifi, Apple Home prompted me to “setup and add to home”. After a minute, it was done and working. It’s great that both plugs are separate accessories as we have giant outdoor inflatables and lights for decorations. The inflatables are on a separate extension cord so we can turn them off if it’s windy but keep the lights on.It’s smaller than I thought but works flawlessly.
