THESE DO NOT CHASE!!…UNLESS (Yes They Do)!! PLEASE READ!!
Now that I have your attention. I just wanted to fully confirm for everyone that these lights do not offer the ability to “Chase”…or more specifically “Speed Chase” OUT OF THE BOX!! And when I say chase…I mean, the very fluid, fast, criss-cross, back and forth subsections. If you don’t update the firmware, the most you will have is a marquis movie theater sign type effect….However…DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!Be prepared to ignore those other reviews that say they “do not chase”….YES THEY DO!!You MUST download the firmware version (v1.05.00) that most likely will be available once you connect them to the app. There will be a TV image representation for your LED String, and you should see a red dot on the lower left side of that picture, and the words “A new firmware version has been detected.” Click on the the TV and it should allow you update it. Once that is completed. ALL the advanced features will be unlocked for these lights. You can use GOVEE’s Light Studio, Configure your own DIY Scenes that can chase or rainbow, or apply user created scenes w/ full speed chasing effects.Second….Confirmed!! You CAN color the individual segments/sections independently with total control to click on a section and create custom color arrangements to your liking. Under the “Color” seciton…you will be presented with the “snake diagram” where you can select (via check mark) which subsection you want to color and all the color selector options available including a “color wheel”.It is VERY IMPORTANT to download/install the v1.05.00 update via the app!! I was not aware of this after reading all the reviews claiming these did not speed-chase/rainbow color change….I can 1000% confirm they do (and I have included a video) for proof…but it all hinges on you getting that update!!As for mounting the strip, I did not peel off the sticky backing on the LED strips, I only used the clips for my application and that was more than enough. I can’t attest to their adhesion but the clips stuck on just fine. Make sure you’re working with a clean surface first. The reason I did not use the adhesive backing is so I can move these around later if I want, and not damage them or the furniture they are currently on….Additionally..connecting to, and setting them up in the GOVEE app worked just fine for bluetooth! IMPORTANT!! These are not Alexa/Home compatible. They are Bluetooth ONLY!! So if you want to turn them on and off with Alexa/Google….you can’t unless you have a “Smart USB Plug” in between the light strip and the USB power source!! Get a Wifi Set of GOVEE light strips if you want that functionality. The room I’m in, and the desk I put them on is right behind me…I don’t need Alexa control…Bluetooth works just fine. Brightness is decent for a desk or TV application so you’ll enjoy them for those movies and music. You can DIY color themes and have them fade, jump, twinkle, chase, and rainbow among many others. The only one I could not find specifically is “Breathe”……Fade is like “breathe” sorta…The USB connection is brilliant. I just plugged them into a power strip below my desk that has USB ports…and it works awesome. The cabling, strips, and controller are black, so for a dark desk, they blend very well. Not some annoying white cable that stands out. It’s very stealthy!!…..ANYWHOThere are pros and cons with anything obviously. IF you are looking for some ambiance for a desk space, or a TV and you don’t need the extremes…Then yes…this will work for your application. I got them based on these 3 criteria…RGBIC, USB, and 6.5ft length. It’s a tiny desk, and I didn’t want to cut them or have lots of extra strip left over I didn’t know where to route or hang down. That said…I gave them a 5 due to the firmware upgrade. Thank you GOVEE because they do work great, and it really would have been a shame to lose out on the full capability of these LEDs…If this fits your application, I full recommend them!!Rock On!!

There’s no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it!
My wife uses a power wheelchair when having to walk long distances. The problem is in the evening when it gets dark, people can’t see her. I’ve tried a couple other LED light strips to light up the bottom of her chair, but both failed in a short period of time. I paid a few dollars more for this one and glad I did because it seems much better built than the cheap previous ones. Only time will tell. I like the tackiness of the adhesive. It seems to hold well. But I did use zip ties in crucial areas since most of the bars I ran it across were round instead of flat. The manual (yes, it really does come with a manual) shows how to loop around a corner which really came in handy.The Govee is meant for the back of a TV but since it’s waterproof and shorter than most, I thought outside the box and saw it as the perfect LED Light strip for her chair. What really drew me to the Govee is the ability to use an app instead of a cheap remote. On both previous strips, the remote had to be in very close proximity to the receiver, which meant she could not sit normal in the chair and change the lights. She had to lean over and aim the remote under the seat to adjust the lights. The Govee app uses bluetooth and does not have this problem. My wife loves the app because it comes with many saved preset themes ie. Christmas, Halloween, Party, Fireworks, New Years Eve…etc. Each of these use different colors and different rotations/blinking. There’s no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it! The app also allows the user to choose their own colors and strobing or just select one solid color. The one minor detail she wishes the app had is the ability to create/save her own theme for later use. (hint to programmers)Important Note: the Govee LED Strip does not come with any kind of power source. There’s no battery pack. It’s made to plug into the USB port of the TV. All it has is a normal USB Type-A connector. This is the normal rectangular end that would plug into a charger plug. It seems we have all kinds of external USB batteries around the house, so one of these will be dedicated to staying with the chair. We just have to remember to recharge the external USB when we charge the chair. Why the chair doesn’t have a USB port somewhere is a whole different topic.

Love it!
Placed them on a built-in desk(on a wall) in our previous apartment. Not even a month later we moved and I removed them and the adhesive was still intact and it didn’t ruin the paint. I was able place them on my new desk! Definitely worth it! They are easy to cut too! The app is easy to use and it has several settings and different scenery options. Love Love Love!

Defective – **UPDATE** – Received new product that works!
*UPDATED REVIEW*I had initially returned the lights due to the defect (read old review below). But after posting my review I was contacted by the seller and they were very helpful and understanding regarding the issues I had experienced. Their customer service is great and I thank them for letting me get the chance to try their product again.The new one I received does not disappoint. All features work (including the scenic options), it stays connected to the Bluetooth and so far no glitches! The only thing is that in the music setting there is an energetic and rolling option that are lacklusting. But other than that colors are bright, you can customize your colors (diy setting) and it looks nice ð.Adhesion: Not great the 3M secure holders do not stick. Did not take the full strip off so no comment about that.Brightness: see picture. Gets pretty brightRemote control: don’t like how its connected to the strip lights.Defective: only works on the single color mode. As soon as you switch to scene mode it starts to blink in the white light and says it can’t connect to the Bluetooth. You have to physically disconnect it from the USB outlet. Will be returning due to defect

Devo proprio dire che sono super soddisfatto la qualitÃ¡ Ã© veramente alta e super resistente.L’installazione e’ veramente semplice e veloce penso che ho impiegato meno di 2 minuti.La striscia puÃ³ essere controllata tramite app, se ascolti musica puoi inserire la modalitÃ audio music e trasformi il tuo salone in una mini disco in 10 secondi, se invece vuoi un illuminazione professionale puoi scegliere le altre modalitÃ cambiando tonalitÃ e intensitÃ luminosa sempre tutto in pochi click.Posso dire che il flusso luminoso emesso non Ã© potentissimo ma veramente ottimo per retro illuminare una tv, per illuminare un computer case o meglio ancora per illuminare un armadio.Ho acquistato questo articolo circa un pÃ³ piÃ¹ di una settimana fa e giÃ non ne posso fare piÃ¹ a meno!!!!Veramente soddisfatto, Ottimo acquisto… Consigliato!!

Perfecto para detrÃ¡s de la tv.Para mi gusto el sensor de sonido es muy sensible.La app funciona perfecto.DeberÃa de tener mas configuraciones de luz,pero con las que lleva va perfecto.Muy bien embalado,y entrega rÃ¡pida.Recomendacion:Antes de poner en la Tv,probarlo un par de dÃas,y ver todos sus efectos,ya que tenemos que buscar el centro de la tira led para instalar,de no ser asÃ,cuando lo enciendas los efectos no estarÃ¡n centrados y no quedara bien

This is one of the most affordable LED lights that can omit different colours on different segments simultaneously. (You can have colour gradients or a rainbow if you like). The installation is simple and the app works well with lots of presets. The adhesive is also very nice and strong.Having said that, as I was using this for ‘practicals’ (some lighting in the background of my zoom video) I just wish it could go a little brighter. The brightness wouldn’t be a problem if youre using it behind a TV or your computer setup.Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
