    So many options!
    Love these string lights! There are SO many options, and it’s customizable. Downloading and using the app was straight forward, if you follow the directions. I love these! You can set the colors, the speed, the light intensity, everything! I think you can even set them on a timer through the app (if I recall correctly – I just leave mine on around my swim pond). I HIGHLY recommend these lights!

    My Christmas lights needed a major upgrade. There are so many color options with these and they were very easy to hang. Only 2 strands rather than 4-5 with our old ones. I want to keep them up all year since you can set a different color or scheme for each holiday! No complaints here!

    Black Friday hype – it’s a lemon 🙁
    Bought the 144 ft set. Only two of the three strands worked at first. We have spent all day trying to reset and get the third working but I worry we just have a lemon. Now none of them work. Will update based on how this is handled by Govee. Was really excited about these and hope this is a rare exception. Considering Wirecutter has recommended Govee – I expect out of the box this should all just work.Updated to be a single star after spending more time without a clear path to resolution. It’s clear there is an issue with the control box. I opened up the panel and it’s covered in hot glue strands (how premium). Govee’s support has not been helpful – it’s clear their goal is to get ppl to go through their warranty process vs Amazon in an effort to not look bad or something. I am new to Govee and am not taking the chance on a lengthy return process for a brand new, faulty device.It’s a lemon. We are getting a new one to give it a shot and sending this back (annoying we have to add it to our errand list the week of thanksgiving) so I’ll update my review.Govee has some positive momentum. Strongly encourage they hire expertise to better serve customers and reduce the burden through clearer communication and better policies.

    Great Set of Lights for the Money
    I recently purchased the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2 to decorate my home for Christmas, and I’m fairly impressed especially for the money. These lights are bright and vibrant, with customizable RGB colors. I love that each bulb can be individually addressed, allowing for a lot of creative possibilitiesSetting up the lights was a breeze. The app is intuitive and easy to navigate, and I had no trouble connecting the lights to my Wi-Fi network. The lights themselves are well-made and feel durable enough to withstand the elements.While I’m very happy with these lights overall, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. First, you can only connect a maximum of three strands together before needing an additional control box and power source. This can be a bit limiting if you’re trying to cover a large area. Second, even though you can daisy-chain strands, you can’t sync multiple separate strands together in the app, which would be a nice feature for creating more unified effects on one house.Despite these minor limitations, I would recommend the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2. They’re a fantastic choice for anyone looking for bright, versatile, and easy-to-use outdoor lighting. I’m looking forward to using them year-round to see how they hold up over time.

    Control over lights
    This is my 1st purchase of these lights. I purchased a few sets of atomi smart led a few years earlier so I can make a small comparison between those 2 companies.Atomi – heavier lights so they seem more durable. Never had one go out. These hung year round on my front porch. With the color themes I could change per season/holiday/event.The wire was heavy gauge. Make it good for durability but hanging was more of an issue. Thick like a pencil.The app was acceptable given the use but could use improvements. Kind if easy to have a timer or scene setting.The biggest issue. Connection to them was and is a pain in the ass. The 1st sets I wad able to connect after calling customer service. Worked great after that. NEEDS the lower wifi band. (2.8 I think it was) the higher band it didn’t work. I have extenders and that had the band needed. I moved not long ago and tried to reconnect to the new router. Will not connect no matter what. I’ve tried everything but calling again.Long ago I had an issue and called. The company sent a full set to replace. I just opened to try then out and the bulb housing is smaller. Not able to purchase this lights again made me look at govee. The new set connected immediately when I 1st plugged in. So I have manual sets, all 3 and 1 that works wifi. Pointless…. currently these are unavailable.GOVEE – Smaller lightweight bulbs. They are BRIGHT. When I first plugged them in it didn’t seem so great. Thats because the default was set to 60%. Nearly blinded myself turning them up.The wires are thin. Almost like Christmas lights that were coated with a rubber that made it a little thicker.The app. Oh the glorious app. I couldn’t believe the control. You can select EACH light and change the color. Plenty of pre programmed scenes. My neighbors must have wondered what was going on since I was playing with the colors and scenes for 30 min and still had more to go. There’s a music setting so the sound will trigger the lights to strobe. Someone had fireworks going off so it was a fun time to try.The “down side” was the plastic clips to hang the strands. Took a little time and measuring to keep them even. That’s also the upside. You can make them short or longer pending preference.Given both companies I’d stay with Govee. Price and app were the best parts.24 feet of atomi were about $8096 feet of Govee was. About $100I’ll try some more with the govee and edit later should I remember to come back.

    These lights are easy to hang and include clips to further make the effort easier. They fit perfectly into a 10×10 gazebo attached to the struts. As advertised you can control the color and brightness of the lights. down to the individual globe, (maybe overkill). But, the App is easy to install and connect to. Many themes and preconfigured settings you can take advantage of with timers. The cost is higher than many similar products, but not by much. This is a solid product, works as advertised, and a great investment.

    Easy to setup – plug in, install the app, choose effect. all done in 15 minutes! link with google home also effortless.I mostly wanted is creating color cycling, so I can use this for Halloween, xmas and other occasions. It supports self-creation, but I don’t even bother because the app comes with so many pre-made + user shared.Before I hang it outside, my kids already have so much fun by playing the effects.There is some trick regarding the length. I don’t think “144FT” is a practical number. There are 15 light bulbs per string and they are pretty big and bright. For outdoor decoration, I prefer each light blue is closer. And I set it as 20 inches away between each light bulb. Which means each light string, for me, will cover 23FT, not 50FT. I so glad that I bought 144ft, not shorter. ( I wish it can chain up longer, but too bad 3 is max.)

    You can easily change any bulb colour from there app. They seem really bight when you up it to max brightness. These should work for some Halloween lighting i plan do nicely.

    I can work smart products pretty easily. But not this. So don’t buy the life time access package till you decide if you’re keeping them. I’m out $79. Plus tax.
