The camera must be installed on top of the TV to prevent ceiling light from being reflected on the TV screen, affecting the color-picking results and obtaining a better viewing experience.

These Govee lights are what you want! They are super cool and work with Apple Home and Alexa, which makes it easy to control them. Setting them up was a breeze! I just installed them, connected them to the Govee app, and I was ready to go.These lights are really bright, and you can change the colors to fit your mood. There are so many colors and options! You can even make them dance with your music, which is just awesome. Govee really thought of everything!The best part is how easy they were to put up. They have strong sticky backs, so they stay in place. Plus, the package comes with clips to keep the wires neat and tidy. A nearly perfect solution for my daughterâs bedroom
My 4 and 2 year old could not be more excited and joyous by this product.Setup was extremely easy, and the self-adhesive backing made applying the strip alongside the inside of their bunk bed very easy.There is a big physical controller with on/off, color rotation and mode rotation buttons the girls can play with for hours.The app is also extremely easy to setup, absolutely flawless and simple, nothing technical at all.The most fun part of the app is the AI integration. You can type or even speak anything at all and it designs a pattern. My 2 year old can say, âElsa eating a cupcakeâ and it will generate a blue and white sparkly display with pink and rainbow touches, all based on this sort of suggestion. Itâs a toy with endless possibilities.These lights get very bright, but the app comes with an easy dimming feature. Overall the color reproduction and the closeness of these lights makes for a high quality experience.I literally do not care at all about the unboxing experience but someone spent a lot of time making it really nice. It feels like an Apple product, lots of easy instructions and simple design.10/10, this is a very good product and it was 100% worth the investment.

A true Hue competitor
While I certainly appreciate the lower end Govee strips for their versatility at their price point, this feels like Govee’s flagship light strip.Pros1. Bright. As bright as the older Philips Hue light strip it replaced if not more so.2. RGBIC means multiple colors on a single strand, which I wanted. This isn’t the only Govee light strip with it, but I wouldn’t have bought it without the feature.3. 6.5 feet is exactly as long as I needed to line the back of a desk.4. Works with my Google Assistant without issue.5. App is easy enough to use once you get used to it.6. Easy to use overall, plug and play.7. I appreciate that it came with a adhesive and also optional clips in case the adhesive didn’t work. My adhesive worked fine but if it ever stops, I have the clips to put it back up.8. There are 11 controllable zones in the app, with the multitude of LEDs, the animations and color transitions are nice.Neutral1. Requires a hub to work with Samsung SmartThings. Not a complaint for Govee, but an FYI for you, fellow Amazon shopper.Cons1. Provided that this thing doesn’t die on me in like 6 months, I have no cons. I love these lights for background atmosphere. They are so easy to install and they work perfectly with the app to set to your preferences. They really add special lighting to a room. I love how many color options there are. They stick down great. The length was perfect for my king size bed and my desk in my home office. The strand is strong. The price was great compared to other brands. I will be adding more to our other rooms.

Before purchase, review app privacy! Updated 12/31/23
I was able to easily install the device into HomeKit using the Matter upgraded control box which the seller provided for free when they became available.The Govee Hone app privacy data is unreasonably invasive. I canât begin to imagine any benefit to the customer from this app being able to access my health records, text/emails, and photos and video/sound recordings. I contacted the company but have not received a response yet, but as the app is listed to a separate company name, I donât expect any info. I will update this as appropriate.The product itself is well made, appears premium in material and emitter performance/density. Unfortunately, it appears you lose all of the custom animation options without the app. If it werenât for the limited use without the Govee Home app privacy invasion, this would easily be a 4/5 review. Without that, what you can use it for makes it overpriced in my view. If I come across a less invasive app, Iâll also update for that.Update. Iâve received numerous replies from Govee regarding my privacy concerns. From their information, it appears the app is so broad due to its use as a home automation hub that can include smart scales and location automations. They further state that the definitions of info accessed does not allow for more detailed breakdown of the specific info, just types. I am trying the unit out now. The light density and personalizations are very sharp, but so far that is only through the Govee app. The HomeKit control is much more limited to basic controls including a touch color palette, but not the automations of the Govee app control. I have upgraded my rating to reflect.

If you want customizable options for colorful lighting this is an excellent choice. This particular one is more expensive because it has more LEDs per ft. If you want more consistent and detailed lighting, go with this one. The govee app is easy to use and a great choice if you’re not familiar with setting up and programming your own LEDs. One thing I don’t like is that the app requires you to use Bluetooth wifi and GPS when connecting and changing settings for your lights. It’s a personal preference since my head always hurts after prolonged exposure to GPS and Bluetooth radiation. I just turn it off after I’m done using the app. If I had it my way I’d use only wifi to connect it.Setting up is pretty easy and the instructions are very clear. These lights are vivid and bright! I find 15-25% brightness is enough for my place.

The ability to program a schedule during the week is amazing. No need to think about turning on the ambiance, it’s always there.The ability to browse what others are creating, and organizing those under different themes and holidays is another killer feature. Almost very user friendly. Could use a bit of simplification to make a smaller learning curve but it’s really nothing to change your purchase decision. Best value for the money.

These lights are amazing, I had it set to sounds, and played Uptown Funk, way too cool. Only issues I had and one ongoing problem. The tape on the back kept shredding making it a royal “B” to remove, and the ongoing problem is, I used that qr code, installed the program, set the email stuff and all, said I was connected, but every time I try the app, nothing happens, it just keeps asking if I want them all to work, I press yes, but still nothing happens. I think I might just have to play with it a while, see what happens.
