    Easy to wire and works
    This is a really clean-looking switch with a bunch of wiring options that should fit lots of different situations. The “night light” LED makes it easy to find in the dark and the dimmer function has worked fine with LED bulbs.

    Dimmer works pretty well for a large (4′) LED Light
    Dimmer works pretty well for a large (4′) LED LightI really like the very dim white light, which illuminates only when the switch is off.Great for nighttime access to the switch.The slider is very small and sensitive though, I end up moving the slider up or down just while trying to turn the light on/off. Hence the one star less. Otherwise a great product.

    There are hundreds of options but using a GE brand name makes a difference!!! the dimmer goes gradually and smooth, no flickering on LED lights at all!

    Flickers even with dimmable lights
    These switches cause the lights to flicker. The lights are dimmable (they were on an older dimmable switch without problems and when I tossed these and bought different switches they were fine) and the wattage is lower than specified. These are just bad switches that do not perform well. Avoid. I contacted GE and got the runaround from the the customer service. They kept telling me to call some other department. It was a mess. I just gave up and threw them away.

    Pros and Cons
    Over all the switch looks good and works reasonably however as others have mentioned there is a bit of a delay when turning on which just feels funny since you expect a light to immediately flick on when flipped but I’m sure I’ll get used to it eventually. This should’ve been a supper easy install and it mostly was except for one very annoying detail I’ve personally never experienced, the screws that you loosen and tighten to connect the wires do not stay open for you to slide in the wire. You have to hold the unit screw side down as you try to slide the wire under or the screw head maddeningly drops down to not allow the wire underneath. Maybe it’s just me but I found it unnecessarily frustrating to do such a simple task. Other than that all seems well so far.

    This dimmer works perfectly with a set of six LED light bulbs from IKEA (LEDARE LED bulb E12 400 lumen, dimmable, globe opal white). Only issue is that if the dimmer is set to lower than 1/3 dimming, it sometimes doesn’t turn on the bulbs.Moving the dimmer a bit higher turns them on, however, and then you can dim the lights down to the lowest level with no problems. It’s almost like the bulbs need a little bit of a nudge to get going.If you set the dimmer higher than 1/3 from the lowest possible setting, then the bulbs turn on right away.The dimmer is reasonably easy to install and comes with all the parts you need to install, apart from the wall plate. It fit perfectly in the cutout in our existing wall plate and didn’t cause any problem during the installation. The metal tabs on the side of the switch can be broken off if you need to install it next to another switch. I had to break of the three tabs on the left to fit it next to one other switch – this required the use a pair of pliers.All in all, very nice dimmer. The switch feels durable and operates just like a normal switch. The dimmer itself is easy to move and also feels durable.In terms of how much it actually dims at the lowest setting, my subjective and entirely unscientific estimate is that the lights are dimmed around 70-75%.

    This dimmer replaced one I installed a couple of weeks ago. The previous one had a limited range of dimming. This one performs as it should (with two different types of led fixtures) and is very cost-effective.
