One of the best wireless battery security camera
This is an add-on camera kit so you need to have an existing HomeBase 2 or 3. This kit is meant to add an extra Eufy camera to your existing setup. I like that this kit comes with the camera and solar panel. I have been using my Eufy Security Cameras for 2 years now along with other brand security cameras. The Eufy has been the best out of all of them, which is why I picked up this kit over other brands.The Eufy Security Cameras does truly offer no monthly fees. All the videos are saved to the HomeBase. With the Eufy, you get human AI detection without having to pay extra to use that feature. The app is easy to use and I like how customizable the software is. You can set when to alert you if motion is detected. You can set zones if you want to limit detection to a certain area. You can set recording time and cool down time. All of these are included with the camera and software. Other brands charge you extra or make you pay for cloud service which includes those features.Depending on your usage, you may not get 6 months of battery life. When I first installed my Eufy cameras, I tested the battery life. I was able to get about 3 months before I had to recharge the camera. Now I’m using solar panels and I do not have to worry about battery life.Motion detection is fairly good if you point the camera correctly. The Motion detection works best if the motion is moving horizontally across the camera. If the person is coming at the camera, it won’t pick them up until they are closer to the camera.Image quality is very good for 2K. I can make out objects with no issues. Even night vision (B&W) images are pretty good.I’m using a total of 4 different security camera brands and Eufy has been the best out of all of them. While the cost of the Eufy camera is higher, you save in the long run by not having to pay any monthly fees. A big plus for me is I can still view the Eufy cameras if my home internet goes out and I’m connected to my home WiFi. I can’t do that with the other camera brands enough though they are connected to the same WiFi.

This is an add on camera for you existing eufyCam homebase 2. You must have the homebase for this to work.It integrates seamlessly into the existing app, as expected and works great. Camera resolution is good and the value, especially with the included solar panel is excellent!If you have an existing eufyCam system and need an additional camera, this will work great! Recommend!

Seamless addition if you are in the ecosystem!
Just got around to setting up the camera, and everything was rather simple. I have an existing setup with the HomeBase 2, and this one works seamlessly! It pretty much auto-links them to my system. Installation is super easy as you don’t need any cabling; everything is linked over your network. The footage is sharp, much sharper than my previous eufy cameras! The sound is passable; you have to speak clearly and loudly into whatever device you are viewing the footage from to understand the audio from the camera. I rarely speak into the camera, so no big issue there.I hate monthly subscriptions and try to keep them to a minimum because they can rack up super fast. It is definitely a plus that you can host everything on your end, with no monthly setup or cloud storage fees. Great camera for an existing setup!

For my testing, I was using a HB3 which is compatible.By default, you get the following Detection Types: Human Recognition, Human Detection, Vehicle Detection, Pet Detection, All Other Motions. As with the other Eufy products, you record to the Homebase (Unless its a camera with built-in storage) so you don’t have to worry about monthly fees or cloud recordings if that’s your thing.This has all the usual settings you get with Eufy cameras including Rich Notifications. And since you have it connected to a homebase you get the A. I Ability to detect familiar faces if you set that up.-Performance was pretty good. I did have some latency issues, but it was maybe about 2-3 seconds on my mesh network. This is pretty much in reason for battery cameras.-Detection worked well and I got about 30ish feet at times.-Audio quality wasn’t half bad and that was for the mic and speaker.-I like Eufys Built-in Power Manager to tell you how many days the camera has been up, detected events, and recorded events along with the current battery %.The Biggest weak point of this camera however is the 3MP sensor. IF they had run this with a 5mp at least, it would have been alot better. It’ll look fine on your phone screen with the 2k resolution option set, but if you are looking for detail, and clarity when reviewing footage, you’ll notice it right away once you pull it over to a monitor. This could be a problem when trying to identify information for a security situation. I would recommend this camera more for a SECONDARY angle that isn’t as important.There are alot of battery cameras on the market that are in this size and cost range, which offer much better sensors. You also only get 15 fps for the footage. It’s okay but 20 would have been better as well. You’ll see some suffering when trying to catch moving objects during Black and white Night vision.That being said, the spotlight color night vision works out pretty well. If you can combine it with some extra ambient lighting, it does a nice job at working in that low light condition. So I can still recommend this camera, just note the things I mentioned above.

I have three other cameras from Eufy. I bought this because it looks like it doesn’t need the Home Base unit. I just tried linking it to my app and it says says I need to get a Home Base. The description doesn’t say Home Base is required, only that it connects to it. My other cameras can also connect to Home Base too, but not required.Returning this.
