Easy to Set Up and Control with Alexa
Three things I was looking for in remote controlled sockets. 1. Obviously, they work. 2. Easy of set up with Alexa. 3. 5 Ghz compatibility. These plugs delivered.I’ve tried a few other brands of sockets and, while they worked okay, they were frustrating to set up. These were the easiest I have found and there were no issues with my upgraded Spectrum 5Ghz router.They will prove well worth the money this coming holiday season. Highly recommended.

Great product, Smart Life Apps sucks
The plugs work great if you want to manually turn them on and off using the Smart Life app. However, the Smart Life app scheduler does not seem to work at all. I have placed many emails to the app author over the last two months of ownership of the product and none of them have been addressed.I would recommend this product if you want to manually turn on and off the plug using the app, but would not rely on it to use the scheduler portion of the app.Update: I never heard back from the Smart Life App author, but I did eventually find and reach out to Eightree support (support.us@eightree.club). They were very responsive and after working with support on troubleshooting, deemed one of the plugs defective and offered an immediate replacement.Now everything is working as scheduled automatically! Easy as it can get.

5 GHz…I don’t think so. Easy set-up – we’ll see how they work after a few days
I looked at my Xfinity Router and saw that these Wi-Fi outlets were connected at 2.4 GHz. I saw a Frequency Spec on the box that states 2.4 GHz only. I looked up the FCC ID, and it specifies the 2.4GHz frequency as well as the (similar) Blue Tooth Frequency.So I assume the 5 GHz they advertise is a gimmick. They would definitely need to have the 5 GHz frequency listed on their FCC ID: Seems like false advertising.That said – the initial set-up was very easy. They pair with your phone via Bluetooth (I assume). So this explains some of the other negative reviews regarding not being able to set-up remotely, however it worked well for me locally. The pairing was easy, and successfully input my Network Credentials (Network Name and Password).I just set them up, so I can’t provide input on some of the negative reviews I saw.

I recently upgraded my router to 5 Ghz and my older plug wouldn’t work (different make). I bought the 4-pack of these – good price! I have 2 deployed to run lamps and they work just fine. The installation booklet gives several different methods to install, which I found a little confusing, but it worked. You have to download the app, which certainly isn’t hard. However, I find the app a bit tricky to use. To program a schedule, you use “events” and “conditions”, rather than by appliance. Example: “If 8:00 am reached, turn X on”. Then you have to add “If 10:00 pm reached, turn X off”. It forces you to dig in deeper to find out what appliance it is. I would rather have it programmable by device – I just think that would be easier (more conventional?). But that’s just me. I managed to get it done.All-in-all, these are neat little devices at a good price to use around the home for basic control of plug-in devices (rated 1200W, 10A; UL, CSA, Intertek and ETL standards listed). I cannot comment on suitability for “3rd Party Control”, such as Alexa. I like them!
