    I live in a lovely, safe area but I like to see who is at my door. This camera is easy to charge, install, and use. I’m able to access it via my phone easily. It does pop out of the holder you put by your door, but I’m not concerned that anyone will steal it where i live. As a GenXer I barely choose to answer my door as it is, I prefer to hide and shut the tv off like my mother taught me. That said, now I can be somewhat mature and spy on the knocker, before deciding to answer or not. I can also use the microphone to tell them to leave the door dash where it is and back away. Essentially this item is a win win for me any way you look at it. I can’t believe this type of technology is so affordable and easy to use. Way better than peeking around the curtain like a fearful hermit.

    I’ve had loads of doorbells from Google to all the rest expensive ones. I wasn’t very sure if to buy this one but it is better than all the expensive doorbells with big brands and high prices.     I was attracted by the fact there is no monthly fee for this deviceNotifications come through to phone when door bell is rung and imagery is clearAudio is clearApp saves recent house visits even when the doorbell isn’t pressed so gives peace of mind for some securityWhen activated not by someone pressing the doorbell I get a notification saying hunanoid detected so I presume AI is used in the technology of this. There are settings to change the sensitivity

    Several issues with this. Set up was ok, but then would not consistently activate the bell ring or the video call, even with the units 30cm from each other. The speaker is poor and you couldn’t communicate with someone through it. The firmware refused to upgrade. The bell ring requires a usb plug, but the way it is designed it blocks the other sockets. Video quality good but some lag. Returned.

    This camera doorbell has 2 way communication, 1080P HD video, motion detection and works on 2.4G wifi only. No 5GCharge the supplied pair of 18650 batteries in the doorbell for 8hours, install the App on your phone, follow the manual instructions and you should have it up and running in around 1hr including screwing the doorbell surround in place or sticking it in place with the supplied double sided sticky pad.The chime is stand alone and requires your own supply of a usb charger brick to plug into a 13amp socket, the chime then plugs into the brick. You get a choice of tones and the degree of volume for it.The camera detects and records 24/7 onto the 32GB pre installed micro sd card. There is no need of cloud subscription, though there is an option for one if you want.All works as designed for mine though I don’t much like having to give the App my wifi password, I wonder if it would still work ok if you put it on a guest account.I see a couple of problems with this model, firstly if you just use the supplied double sided sticky to mount it, then it can be removed (stolen) quite easily.Secondly, even if you screw the surround in place with the supplied fixings, this camera doesn’t have a special securing screw to mount it inside the surround. It just has a detent button, press it in and pull the camera and its removed.Unlike a high level security camera which isn’t easily accessed, if this one is stolen they also got your video of them taking it, unless of course you subscribe to the cloud account.So at time of review it was £39.99 for diy install, the video it produces is 1080P at 12 frames per second which looks fine. I’m pleased to have reviewed it but unsure of the security of itself.

    It was easy to set up and easy to manage the only thing I’d say is it would be a lot better if you got 2 sets of batteries with it so when one set is charging the other set can be used so you don’t have to be without the doorbell for a few hours notifications are very prompt night vision is great and speaker is very clear
