    Magical
    I’m pretty satisfied with this camera. The setup was straightforward, even for someone who isn’t all that tech-savvy like me. The magnetic mount is solid, and it’s really easy to adjust the camera or move it around. It took me maybe 10 minutes to get everything running, and the app was helpful in guiding me through the process.The video quality is good, especially the 2K resolution, which holds up even at night. I’ve set it up in the living room where it can cover both the kitchen and the play area, and the wide view lets me keep an eye on my kids while working from home. It’s been super convenient, and I’m thinking of picking up another one for the backyard.

    Easy Setup and connection. Great customer service
    Out of the box this camera was easy to set up and connect to WiFi through their App. I love the magnetic mount. The pictures are clear but the app is a little clunky. The biggest disappointment is that I cannot figure out how to use the 3x digital zoom in the specificationsand marketing video. I updated the firmware and used all the typical pinch, pull methods standard on iPhone software.UPDATE: After reading my review their customer service team reached out to me, logged a bug , and released a working update.Great customer service.Night vision works really well with the light on.

    Doesn’t work. Don’t do it.
    I was so excited to install this camera. We took it out of the box and charged it over night. Today we tried to set up and pair the camera with our phones but nothing is working. The camera is not detectable. I’ve been pairing it for an hour and still no luck.

    Best Camera For Us
    I’ve had two other security cameras and there were problems with each. The last one quit working by going off line all the time. The Kiwibit cameras have worked flawlessly. I love the magnetic mount and the USB charing. So far, it appears the battery charge will last a long time. I had a few issues with the app, but the customer service was quick and the problems were resolved quickly. I was very satisfied.

    Easy to setup
    App was easy enough to setup, though the pairing process is loud (the chime plays until this stage is complete.) Once the camera was connected, it immediately requested a firmware update.The image quality is pretty good, with a high enough framerate that the live feed isn’t stuttery or hard to watch. The colour comes through clearly, even at night. Motion sensitivity works very well, and you have an option to trigger an alarm if you want with that.Once it’s all paired up, have a rummage in the settings and you’ll find a “coupon” for a 1day rolling cloud service. You can set the camera to save locally to a microSD card as well.. or you can pay for the cloud subscription. Be aware that with “no plan” the features you have access to are very limited.It’s charged with a USB-C cable, from underneath the main body which is a bit awkward to access.. but in terms of design, makes sense. If it’s going to be in a high location, outside, it might be worth looking at getting a solar panel for it.I initally thought it would come with a magnetic mounting plate, but it doesn’t. The magnetic feature means that it will hold to existing structures. The plate does come with hardware for installation, and the camera base slides and locks into place.I think i’ll keep this near the front or back door, somewhere that I can access without needing a ladder. The lack of features means that this will probably just get used as a CCTV, rather than a long term security solution.

    Great entry-level or starter option
    So let’s start with the good. This is a great option if you’re looking to test the waters and try out a security camera. It doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. The app is solid. The camera itself is easy to install, and I really like the fact that it has a rechargeable internal battery. The battery life seems like it will be more than adequate. I’ve had it deployed for a little more than a day now and it still shows at 99% charge in the app.Like I said, the app is solid. I didn’t have any problems connecting the camera to WiFi or to my phone. Be aware that the free service doesn’t allow you to see anything that happened in the past (i.e., retrieve old video) so you may want to seriously consider installing a microSD card to store video. Fortunately, there’s a place for a card and the app allows you to retrieve video remotely from that card. I put a 16GB microSD card into the camera and I think that will be weeks of storage at the rate I’m going (0.2GB in a little more than a day). I did have to dial back the sensitivity on the motion detection because it was catching every car driving by. The image quality is excellent, even at night.Now, the bad. The response time seems slow to me. I’m noticing a lag of about 15-30 seconds from the time motion is detected to the time I get a notification. While there is an alarm and speaker function on the camera, but it’s not terribly loud. Enough to get someone’s attention, but it’s not at an earth-shattering volume. I’ve also noticed a couple of bugs in the app, namely related to push notifications and accessing SD card video. None of these things would discourage me from recommending this camera.If you’re looking to try out a home security camera, this is a contender. Depending on how my experience goes with this one, I may just get more of them to fit out the rest of my house.
