A nice camera for not much money
Everything was safely packed and well protected from any adverse shipping events. The instructions are clear, and the configuration utility finds the camera on the network without issue. Admittedly, I cruised through setting up the camera initially without even reading the manual. The device I received does not lock down “tight” in the base and allows the turret to move with little effort; this is a negative aspect. The video quality is excellent at full resolution, however the 15fps limitation in the upper resolutions was a bummer. The configuration for recording in Blue Iris is as easy as providing a username and password, however I had to use the ONVIF integration rather than Amcrest, as well as create a separate user in order to get ONVIF events. The motion and analytic adjustment is easy to understand and set up, and I had it triggering Blue Iris with some brief investigation and technical knowhow. I would recommend including this information in the documentation for those who are less familiar with ONVIF and event streams. Not everyone wants to increase server overhead for functionality the edge devices can be performing. The camera has been running reliably on the latest firmware now for quite a long time. I have not had to reboot it or otherwise investigate any issues with the unit.

Replaing two cameras that failed (POE) in 2 years in SW Desert Heat
I have three cameras mounted outside, and they worked well for about two years in the Arizona heat. Unfortunately, one of the cameras failed about a month ago, and now a second one has stopped working. Iâm just waiting for the third to go out, too. When I replaced the first camera, I went with the newer model. However, it came with some disappointing design changesâespecially the mounting fixture, which is now entirely plastic. The desert heat will likely wear it down fast, and the new plastic mount doesnât secure the camera as well as the metal one. Fortunately, the older metal mount fits the new camera so that I could use that instead. The second replacement I bought was a refurbished version, identical in build to my original ones (all metal). It works like new, so Iâll see how long it lasts. Both failed cameras’ main issue is their internal PoE (Power over Ethernet) circuit. I salvaged one of the broken cameras using an Active PoE Power Over Ethernet Splitter Adapter (48V to 12V), which will be placed indoors to protect it from the elements.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4JT5VSK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Not bad
Overall the camera itself produces a great picture. Setup was easy enough through my existing Amcrest NVR. The picture quality is good, better when directly viewing the camera, it has to step down slightly when viewed through my NVR which is a little older. It feels built strong while still remaining family light and permanent install was easy with a just a few screws needed and a small hole for the wire. Aiming the camera was easy enough with the screw adjustment for the collar and it tightened up snuggly when done. If I need to replace my existing Amcrest cameras in the future I’ll be replacing them with this most likely.

I could not tell this was refurbished
I am always impressed with Amcrest’s Cameras and like all the others this one did not disapoint. This camera is refurbished but I honestly could not tell it was used at all. Maybe I got lucky? I received the camera in an official box with all parts and accessories that come with any of their other new cameras. There was no noticable damage or paint scratches on my camera. I have used this camera for 6 months now and it has had 0 issues. I am also reassured that Amcrest has complete confidence in their refurb cameras due to their 1yr warrenty.

Great Camera. Good quality.
…and good for selfies!Jk. This camera was installed so i can keep an eye on my 5 year old son. At first he liked it, but he soon discovered he cant get away with “pretending to sleep”.Happy dad, not happy son.

Dead on Arrival
The camera looks great but it won’t turn on! I can see it pulling power from the PoE port, approximately 2.8W, but the ethernet never connects. I’ve left it sit for nearly a half hour and still nothing. Appears to be dead on arrival…

Networking ability helpful
We wanted to add some security to outside our apartment to watch our car in the parking lot. My husband likes the PoE method so we got this. It was a bit of a pain to set up as my husband had to acquire the IP address and set it to static for me. I don’t like the app but it works well, it’s just not aesthetically pleasing. The resolution/image is pretty amazing and there’s a plethora of camera settings. I got frustrated with some of the settings because they didn’t seem to do anything, only to realize they don’t apply to this camera. Night vision is good, grey tones as you’d expect. The range of the image is pretty amazing, like 100 feet. It’s hard to get the image placed exactly the way you want due to the fisheye effect but we figured it out. We also have to attach it without the screws (apartment), that solution is still pending. I’d definitely recommend the camera overall.
