My nicest camera covering two cameras worth
This is my nicest camera. The panoramic view is incredible, showing what would take two to cover, while the dual lens keeps the resolution and quality the same as my other 4k cameras. See photos, one daytime, one full night with IR, and the last night with spotlight turned on (note, this one is also added by a motion spotlight on the house).Setup without issue and immediately integrated into BlueIris with onvif. I use the camera built in trip wire and intrusion zones, though it has more advanced options with human and vehicle detection along with facial recognition. The stich together of both lenses works wonderfully and allows distance adjustment depending on the location. The interface is familiar but very much updated compared to my prior Amcrest cameras. Everything (and then some) is there, just organized differently. It maintains full color quite late into the night, only being surpassed by my very large sensored camera made to stay full color with little light. The ability to speak through the camera and listen are nice and both worked in BlueIris without special setup.Just an overall great camera for a location where a wide view is useful with nothing negative to say.

Exceeded My Expectations, Absolute GAMECHANGER!
About My Camera Setup:I’m currently running 7 Amcrest POE cameras. I use Home Assistant and Scrypted to bring these cameras into Apple Homekit and enable Homekit Secure Video. Amcrest POE cameras are perfect for this application because they are very reliable, great quantity, and already have built-in motion sensors which can be used to detect motion in Scrypted/Homekit. I got this Amcrest Dual-Lens 4K (8MP) Outdoor Security POE Camera to replace the single lens Amcrest 4K bullet camera in my driveway.Camera Quality:Build – As expected, this feels like a premium quality device. The camera is solid, heavy, and well made. The power and POE connectors appear to be the same size as the single lens Amcrest camera. The bolt pattern on the base is also the same as the Amcrest single lens bullet camera. This allowed me to install this new camera in the exact same spot as the old one without drilling new holes, which was perfect.Installation:As usual, installation was simple. I plugged the camera into my POE switch and entered the IP address (I prefer to set a static IP for my cameras) into my browser. After entering the IP address, I expected to see the same Amcrest interface that comes up with my other cameras. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this camera has a totally different, newer looking web interface. It has most of the same functionality as the other interface with a few extra options for the panorama camera. One feature that is missing was the ability to flip or rotate the footage (I accidentally installed the camera upside down the first time, which is why I was looking for this option). One other software quirk that I found was when I tried to manually check for firmware updates. When you check for an update, you get what appears to be an error that says “Check timeout.” Does that mean that there are no updates available? There are also lots of AI features available with this camera that can be configured in the software. In my setup, I use Apple Homekit for all of my smart object detection and motion zones. So, the built-in Amcrest AI detection is just an added bonus.Video Quality – The video quality is excellent during the daytime and clear at night! There are two led spot lights that provide excellent illumination for both lenses. The result is very impressive, crystal clear color night vision. The main stream resolution is 4096×1856 at 15fps. This 180 panoramic field-of-view is a gamechanger for me! Take a look at the screenshots included with this review. My previous 4K camera gave me a good view of my driveway and about half of my front yard. But with the Amcrest Dual-Lens 4K camera, I can see my driveway, entire front yard, and up/down my entire street! I love, love, love this!Audio Quality – This is my first POE camera with 2-WAY AUDIO!! This is a welcome feature. Sound quality from the camera microphones is about what you would expect. No complaints.Apple Homekit / Home Assistant: As stated previously, all of my POE cameras work in Apple Homekit via Home Assistant and Scrypted. This new camera is no different. I am able to see the entire panoramic feed AND use the 2-way audio feature within the Apple Home app. Apple Secure Video records motion events perfectly, using the Amcrest camera’s built-in motion sensors. This is, by far, my new favorite camera! It works perfectly in my setup and does everything that I need it to do. If you want to add a new camera to your home or replace an existing camera, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Amcrest Dual-Lens 4K (8MP) Outdoor Security POE Camera!I only wish that it came in BLACK 🙂

The Best Security Camera on the Market
Amcrest has a big winner with the IP8M-DLB2998EW-AI panoramic bullet security camera. From start to finish my overall experience has been highly positive, and I am happy to provide greater details on how and why.As I have come to expect from Amcrest, the camera came packaged very well. The camera itself was protected in the box with just the right amount of protective foam to keep it secure and undamaged, but not too much to be unnecessary or wasteful. Removing the camera, quick start documentation, and hardware from the box was quite easy. I was surprised by the heft of the camera itself: it is a rugged device, but be mindful to not drop it because I am sure the two camera lenses would not take kindly to a fall.To configure the camera before mounting it, I attached it to my PoE switch. After a few moments, it obtained an IP address via DHCP from my router. I initially located the camera’s IP via the discovery mechanism in the Amcrest View Pro app on my phone, where I configured the initial device password, but decided that I wanted to perform the complete setup process through the web interface. Not to say that complete setup isn’t possible through the app, but I find myself more comfortable with this kind of activity on a larger screen. When I logged in to the web interface, I was pleasantly surprised. The camera web configuration has undergone a complete and total overhaul comparative to all of the Amcrest devices I have used in the past. Of course, I was deeply familiar with the former interface, but the new interface was easy to quickly adapt to. And, it finally looks and feels modern. The flow of the UI is seamless, and in less than 5 minutes I had the camera configured with a static IP and functioning within the Surveillance Station of my Synology NAS.At this point, I mounted the camera in its permanent location so that I could get an idea of how the new dual lens panoramic view would work. I have been nothing short of completely impressed by this camera view. I had previously had some blind spots in the location where I decided to place the camera, but those are now gone. This camera truly does provide a panoramic view, and the 8 megapixel lens ensures that the video feed is crystal clear. I did not have to adjust any of the video settings because the defaults provided a perfect view, but the settings are all fully configurable if that is needed.Over the course of the week, I created some detection zones and tripwires for the camera’s AI to be able to detect humans and vehicles only, and it has yet to fire a false positive. I have set my Synology to only record on advanced detection events (in other words, those events that the camera deems to be people or cars) and upon reviewing the footage from the day and from overnight, I have yet to see any video of squirrels or stray cats. Every single video has been a person or a vehicle. This is truly impressive.Speaking of overnight footage, the night vision on this camera is outstanding, and the sensors are able to pull in enough ambient light to get a clear picture of a person before my motion light triggers. Furthermore, the camera’s ability to fire a flashing or constant deterrent light during certain times is quite a bonus. I want people to know that they’re on camera, and this achieves the objective.Amcrest’s online PDF documentation does a great job of explaining all of the nuances of the web interface, and again, I must applaud the engineers at Amcrest for listening to my prior feedback and performing this complete overhaul. It might be a far-fetched hope, but I would love to see this new interface on some of their older camera models if the older hardware can support it. It’s really, really good.In summary, Amcrest has a big winner on their hands with this device. If wide-angle security coverage with a crystal clear image of an outdoor space is needed, this camera delivers everything. I like this camera so much that I am considering replacing some cameras in other locations with this new model. It’s worth every penny.
