    Still the Best!!
    I’ve used Amcrest cameras for years. I came across this model a number of years ago, and tried it out. Was hooked from then on. Most of my Amcrest cameras have now been migrated to this model. The only unfortunate thing is that it seems its hard to get these now. I have to buy these refurbs rather than new. Funny thing is however, these look and feel new. So, not much of a downside. Image clarity, and sound clarity, with solid mounting makes these cameras a staple in my video systems.My suggestion to Amcrest – if you could make these in 12mp POE, that would be even better!

The camera’s durable build and weatherproof design give me confidence in its ability to withstand outdoor elements, providing reliable surveillance year-round.Furthermore, the camera’s software interface is user-friendly and intuitive. Navigating through the settings and adjusting camera features is straightforward, and the accompanying app allows for convenient remote monitoring from anywhere.The only reason I’m not giving it a full five stars is that I’ve encountered occasional connectivity issues. While these have been relatively minor and infrequent, they can be a bit frustrating when they occur.Overall, the Amcrest POE Camera is a solid choice for anyone in need of a reliable security camera. It offers exceptional video quality, easy installation, and user-friendly software interface, making it a valuable asset for home or business surveillance.

    Impressive camera
    To supplement my existing PoE NVR and take the place of my aging IP cameras, I went with this model of the camera because it is 4K (8MP) and ONVIF compliant. I know my old NVR won’t be able to show off my new camera in its full glory because separate companies make the two and employ different technology. Because of this, I can only offer camera feedback from NVRs that are ONVIF-compliant rather than from any NVR.First off, the camera case is rock-solid in terms of durability. It serves as excellent weatherproofing for the camera. Thanks to Power over Ethernet, it can run off of a single outlet.The camera is now linked to my NVR. After rescanning from the NVR and entering the new credentials for the camera, it became visible in the NVR interface. Also, I used the same NVR to hook up my Windows laptop. Using the camera’s IP address, I can directly converse with the camera. To access the camera’s user interface, all I need is a web browser. This is a backdoor way to access the camera’s settings and properties if the NVR doesn’t provide access to them.Additionally, Microsoft Internet Explorer, with the plugin installed, is required to view all camera settings in the browser.Now that the camera is operational checking the NVR’s display for available camera settings and functionalities is a priority. I had motion detection set up, but for some reason it wasn’t working. Disabling the camera’s “intelligent detect” feature resulted in successful motion detection after some trial and error. Please take note that the NVR will not show you this function.Turning off “Intelligent Detection” requires accessing the camera’s IP address in a web browser. Camera settings (through Web browser) can be seen and modified independently of the NVR if necessary.It’s worth noting that the camera has top-notch sensors. The camera performs admirably even when there is very little available light. The camera can filter out the “darkness” and display a clear color image without the use of night vision LEDs even when it’s getting dark outside.I have programmed my night vision LEDs to activate only when it is really dark outside. In addition, depending on the position of the camera, night vision can provide a range of up to 100 feet.During the day, the 4K video has exceptionally crisp visuals. The maximum frame rate the camera can produce is 20 frames per second (main stream), which is adequate but not ideal. Images captured at night with night vision turned on are very clear. The two infrared LEDs perform a great job of “lighting” up the area for nighttime use.This 4K camera is reasonably priced considering the high quality and extensive functionality it offers.
