Easy installation, works great.Note I had some issues connecting it to Alexa at first because I scanned the QR code like usual. It was not connecting properly – finally I saw on the box it says DONT scan this QR code! I added it without the QR scan, just go through the menu and add an Amazon basics fan controller and it works great.

Amazon Smart Switch: One more step to a smarter home
The Amazon Basics Smart Fan Control Switch is one more step on the march to having a smarter home. I must get used to not using âlocalâ control and adopt remote control behaviors much in the same way as not pushing the top of the battery-operated soap dispenser (changing years of former behaviors is the most arduous part of this conversion process). The new system should work much better once I move to fiber and jettison Starlink. The Amazon switch is feature rich and easy to install.

I’ve had my share of smart switches, and I was previously using a basic 2 way from a competitor offering (Older 2018 era product).Old one used to bug out when turning on and off and show a wireless error, but this one doesn’t seem to share that problem.. so that’s a definitive upgrade for me.Pairs right up with Alexa and really straight forward. Just follow app.Wish It had more support for competitors as I would 100% recommend friends on different ecosystems.. so far, Alexa only!Really nice click feel and build. Can recommend. 5/5 from me.

I don’t know if it’s just easier these days setting up smart devices or I just got more familiar with the process. This was a breeze. If you’re familiar with replacing switches, it’s simple and getting it on the network and recognized by Alexa, it’s nearly brainless. I think I could have done the whole project in less than a half hour had I been trying.

I was able to quickly swap out the old switch for this fan switch. I was then able to quickly add it to my network and add find it in my alexa app. Great option for voice operated fan controls. Now its added to my auto lights off at midnight since this isn’t in a bedroom.

If you have done any electrical in the past this should be pretty simple. Same concept as changing a switch or outlet. Very easy install and connected to my Alexa app with no issues. Havenât had connection drop or anything yet. So far so good
