Works as promised!
I have two of these, each powering an outdoor battery Nest camera. Both are positioned with ample sunlight throughout the day. I bought these so I wouldn’t have to climb up on a ladder a few times a year just to recharge my cameras. They have been installed for over a year and I haven’t had to touch them once! Full power, live video, all the time. The cost is worth the convenience.

Update – replacement received even though original died outside warranty
Update 10/10/24Well, Iâm sorry to say that I forgot to do the update on this. But for good reason⦠I have now had the replacement up in place for over a year now and I have had zero issues with it. It has constantly maintained the charge on my camera, even through last years winter, where I receive less sunlight up here in Western Washington. I would like to thank the fantastic customer support people for providing me a replacement device that not only fixed the issue, but has outlived the original product. Iâm happy to update this review to a five star.Update – 5/28/23-I received a replacement panel from the customer support reps of the product. It has resolved the failed device status and I am upping the review to 3 stars. I will provide additional information in approximately 4 months. That duration of time will be after the original one died.Original review-Easy to install. Used the same brand 2-in-1 gutter mount for the panel, as I already had the camera mounted above my garage. The cable management clips the panel comes with are garbage and I ended up using my own. The panel worked from Jan 31st when it was installed, through May 4th (possibly stopped working earlier).TL:DR – stopped working just outside warranty periodStory time…I had some landscapers doing some work putting bark down in the planters in my back yard. The bark had been delivered to the front driveway, so naturally there was a lot of activity in the driveway where the camera watches. Due to this, the battery in the Nest camera drained much faster than normal.”The solar panel must not have been able to charge it as fast as the camera was consuming,” I thought. I charged the camera from USB wall power, like I had at least one other time since getting the solar panel. It charged to 100%, I got the notification on my phone that it was full, got out the ladder, reinstalled the camera, and reattached the solar panel cable. When I got down from the ladder, I checked the phone to make sure the viewing angle was good. The camera was showing a battery percentage of 100%. When plugged into solar, (on the iPhone anyway) the app shows an infinity symbol instead of a battery percentage. So for whatever reason, there was no power going to the camera.I got back up on the ladder and made sure the cord was sitting snugly in the port and was in the correct orientation, yep. I then moved the ladder to the panel and made sure there was nothing on it that was blocking sunlight. Looked clean to me. Still no power. It’s a simple device. Not much for an end user to mess up. Panel points towards sun, attached cord plugs into camera. It is unacceptable that a device with no moving parts, designed to sit and absorb sunlight all day, could fail so quickly.I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the failure of the Wasserstein solar panel for my Nest camera. Despite following all the instructions (as limited as they were) and ensuring that everything was installed correctly, the panel failed and is no longer charging the camera battery… just outside of its warranty period, too. This cost me not only the money spent on the panel and mount but also my time and effort in installing it. Now, I am left with the options of either paying someone to run a cord into my garage and install a new outlet or going back to manually charging the camera every so often.

Over 1 Year of use
I’ve been using these for over a year now and they have been exceptional. They are very easy to install and worth the money. I charged my outdoor cameras fully before connecting them to these solar panels. Since then, I have not had any cameras die. I haven’t had to touch them at all for over a year. Through rain and crazy storms, they still work perfectly.

Works good, but see review about draining battery.
The first day I installed, it worked fine. The second day it drained my cameras battery from 100 to 0. I spoke with their support and they informed me the panel has a battery in it. They usually come fully charged, but sometimes they don’t. They told me to disconnect and charge the camera normally, and leave the panel in the sun for a day. It has worked fine ever since. Will update if that changes.

A Must for Nest Cam Battery Owners!
The one advantage of the Nest Cam battery cameras is the ability to mount them anywhere without wires. Even though the battery lasts long, they still need to be charged every few months, depending on activity detected and settings. This solar panel charger eliminates the need to climb up on a ladder, take down a camera, and charge them for hours before remounting them. This has saved me a lot of time and hassle. Well worth the pricetag!

Itâs been a year and it still works great
I wanted to have a camera where there is no outlet and this was a great solution for Florida sun. Itâs been a year and it works much better than expected. The camera showed low battery only twice in a year and it was not for long period of time.

***** update talked to the company and it was not getting the sufficient Sun it needed to keep it charged. Moved it and couldnât be happier! 10/10!!!!!I installed this over a month ago, the battery was charged to 100%, 95% of the time it says on solar but that 5% of the time itâs not the battery percentage is going down and down! Itâs now at 35% not impressed not worth the money.
