    Good functional cameras
    Good quality, not exactly top quality resolution, but they fit our needs and budget. They were pretty easy to install, although running the cables through our attic in Florida during the summer with COVID wasn’t fun. They see our dark yard in the middle of the night surprisingly well. We get to see a lot of wildlife.

    I ran my system through the attic space, and with the help of some DIY YouTube videos, I was able to mount them on my soffit without issue. There is some drilling involved, as well as, a few extra materials like wall plugs and wire concealment hardware for aesthetics… NOW FOR THE SYSTEM. It’s awesome. Cheap monthly service only after 3 months free, the night vision works great, and it’s hardly noticeable when outside… The system has push notifications app that you get on your phone, with playback options. The quality is great. Honestly. It kicks arse! I highly recommend if you don’t mind running the wires. Way better than wireless system! Thanks Swann!

    Updated, easy, great value
    These updated Swann cams that are about 15 years old (one was anyway destroyed in a storm). These new cameras are better (HD and you can feed the lines through the base) and the control box is much improved. Don’t try to set it up manually, use the QR code to connect to the app (I used iOS but there’s also an Android app). Then plug and play. No need to sign up for Swann’s security program. The cameras stream to your app and they also send alerts and allow replay of notification events. The provided 64 GB SD card suffices, resulting in no moving pieces (no hard drive needed, though you can plug in an external HD). It doesn’t work with MacOS Home app (correct me if I’m wrong), so wriggle room for improvement but the Swann app is better than ok. Excellent price, big value.

    Stopped Working, Storage is Fickle
    Stopped working 9 months in. Only solution was to pay to have it dismounted (after we paid to mount it) to send it in for “diagnostics.” If it they fix it, I will have to pay to mount it again and hope it doesn’t s*** the bed again. And even if it does, I’ve paid Swann so much for the mount dismount snip snap snip snap that I’ve spent double what I’d ever get back with my warranty.Do not buy.
