Pro: easy to connect once you download yi home app. put on same 2.4GHz wifi. Once it is paired, you can hook up app to 5GHz wifi and still look at it – you can access it from any wifi anywhere, actually. Camera itself works on 2.4GHz wifi only. Pretty good pictures. Don’t need cloud service for either live or recording.Con: not too good at motion detection. Mine pretty much does continuous recording even when set for just medium sensitivity, record on motion detection only. Does NOT work with yiiot app – i was fooled. I did set it up (paired it) using the yiiot app but it won’t save the camera name so you can’t access it – I think they purposely did that so you would have to use their other app (yi home app). It showed up without any help on the yi home app (guess it was paired correctly).Other: Apparently, the cloud service is good for both. Also, the user account (set up with your email – its mandatory but is free) is the same for both apps. I have both cameras and now have to run 2 apps to see them *sigh*. Mine has a habit of going into night mode (black and white, no color) even in ok light. That is pretty sad. My old camera didn’t do that. They do have a setting where you can turn off the night mode but I also want it to work in the dark…*oh well*, guess I’ll have to get used to no colors unless the sun is shining in the room. Power cord is 6 feet long, included with separate 5V 1Amp power plug. Microphone works well both ways. App has a setting for only 1 talk at a time OR both can talk at once. For the price, pretty good.

Very annoying, unreliable & now with ads before you can access your camera
Have to update my review. After owning 5 of these cameras for a while now just this week they added ads so if your camera goes off in the middle of the night or while you are away you & need to check if you have to watch one or two ad videos before you can access your camera. I really didn’t think they could get any worst.I CAN’T stress enough how unreliable these cameras are. Half the time they say they are offline when you know they are not.This camera is super annoying and even though it comes with the memory card option it is relentless in trying to push you to sign up for their monthly service plan to the point where it won’t let you view the card till you hit view offers and decline offers several times back to back . Sometimes back to back to where you give up and decide to try later. It’s also constantly saying that it’s offline when it’s not because without you doing anything at all it starts working again. It misses recordings because of this offline issues. If it was only one camera I would think it’s defected but I have four of these YI Home cameras including two being domes and they are all the same. I didn’t get all at Amazon but ever I single one of them are the same. Wish I would’ve read reviews before getting them.

Easy set up

this product is honestly amazing u can talk tru the cam u can hear and the quality is 100% super practical u can use it from ur phone! and for the price i will say its the best im gonna go buy more cos i definetly recommend it!!
